The birth of the new safety mechanism DVRT (Divert)
For the 2024-2025 season, bern proudly announced a revolutionary new safety technology called "DVRT." This technology was developed by ShieldX, a company that has been conducting research and development for over 10 years at the Head Injury and Prevention Laboratory in the School of Mechatronics Systems at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. Simply put, the helmet features a padded interior with five membranes made of different materials. When an impact occurs while skiing, the five membranes slide in all directions and rotate in all directions to absorb the impact
The uniquely shaped pads expand inside the helmet, providing a perfect, comfortable fit. This reduces rotational impact damage by up to 45% compared to helmets without a rotational impact dispersion mechanism. It can be installed without modifying the helmet's structure, improving protection without increasing weight.
