The biggest topic for ORTOVOX in the 2025-2026 season is the release of a new shovel model. Two of ORTOVOX's most popular high-end models have been redesigned, bringing cutting-edge, reliable weapons to avalanche rescue.

The PRORESCUE is a robust shovel with a D-shaped handle that is ideal for highly specialized situations such as rescues. It is the successor to the Kodiak. With a very large blade and a shoveling capacity of over 4 liters, it is extremely useful in rescue situations. It is also lighter than the previous Kodiak model, ensuring optimal performance.

The PROGUIDE, suitable for all alpine scenes, is the successor to the Professional Aluminum III. It features a T-handle that can be transformed into a hoe-shaped handle, and weighs an astonishing 630g, 140g lighter than the previous model. For mountain guides and others who are involved in rescue operations and need to move flexibly as tour leaders, this model is extremely easy to use, offering robustness and durability while remaining lightweight and easy to handle

In addition, both PRORESCUE and PROGUIDE have been certified as UIAA (International Mountaineering Federation) 156 avalanche rescue shovels, ensuring their high reliability for mountaineering and backcountry use

BRAND features

Founded in 1976, ORTOVOX's roots lie in the work of electrical engineer Gerald Campell, who, inspired by his involvement in the development of a transceiver for mountain rescue, began crafting a backpack that could compactly store rescue equipment. Later, the company developed products such as a shovel and 100% wool innerwear, and in 1989 produced the ORTOVOX F1 avalanche transceiver, which is still used today by ORTOVOX. Since developing a series of innovative products, primarily avalanche gear, ORTOVOX has earned the brand a high reputation among professional guides in the Alps. ORTOVOX is passionate not only about craftsmanship but also about safety education. In 2008, they founded the SAFETY ACADEMY, and continue to provide a wide range of mountain safety knowledge and techniques to the world
