The history of Swanee Gloves began in 1987 when Bill Dzierson, the owner and descendant of the founder of Elmer Little & Sons, which was founded in 1893 in Gloversville, New York, a town next to Jonestown, where Swanee America is located, met Swanee and the two companies merged. He had long been aware of the need for warmer and more durable ski gloves, and began manufacturing ski gloves with a strong desire to "simply make the best ski gloves."
They have successfully developed a variety of unique technologies, including "FLEXOR," made with special technology developed for astronauts' extravehicular activities; "TOASTER," developed for Arctic expeditions, which allows for detailed work with research equipment without removing the gloves while maintaining warmth; "Tri-plex," which uses three different functional materials to enhance heat retention; and "Dryfinger," a waterproof and breathable material that prevents wind, rain, and snow from entering the gloves, keeping the inside of the gloves comfortable. They are particular not only about technology, but also about leather, and by signing production contracts with overseas tanneries and managing the raw leather from the procurement stage onwards, they maintain consistent, top-quality products
