On the second day, Sunday the 18th, the ever-popular "Pittanko Time Race" will be held. Any telemarker can participate, and this unique race is won by the skier with the smallest difference between their self-reported predicted time and their actual time.

Additionally, there will be a test ride of the domestic brand "Bluemorris" Telemark skis on both days. It will be a two-day event where you can try out new models, experience the charm of Telemark skiing, and mingle with fellow skiers

What is Teletopia Norikura?

" Teletopia Norikura " (abbreviated as Telenori) is a community of telemarkers who love Norikura, formed with the aim of revitalizing the Norikura area through telemark skiing. Their base of operations is the Norikura Plateau, which spreads out at the foot of Mount Norikura, which is 3,026m above sea level. Attracted by some of Japan's best powder snow, a vast skiable area, and the magnificent backcountry fields that stretch out before their eyes, many telemarkers from all over the country gather here.

Telemark skiing is a sport in which each individual skier has a different form depending on their bone structure and muscle strength. Since its launch in 2011, the group has been working to spread awareness of the diverse and profound appeal of this sport. The circle of support has expanded little by little, and the number of members continues to grow

In order to develop Norikura into a "center of a mature ski culture," Teletopia Norikura has set the following goals and is working towards them:

  1. Improving skills by teaching each other
  2. Providing information on voluntary training gatherings and group skiing days
  3. Teletopia Norikura Festival (Tenori Festival) held
  4. Consideration for protecting participants' personal information
  5. There is no membership fee and everyone is a part of the team

Telemark trial lesson

There are three 90-minute lessons per day. Around 10 people, from current World Cup champions to experienced instructors, each deliver their own unique lessons. There is also a great corner where you can ski with the instructors and ask them any questions you like. Check the timetable and choose the lesson that suits you best

Pittanko Time Race

This unique race tests not only skiing technique but also intuition, with participants bringing their own prizes, creating a truly handmade feel. One of the attractions of the race is the atmosphere that values everyone having fun together, rather than winning or losing. It's also a rare opportunity to see the Japanese World Cup skiers ski up close. Come join in and have a great time together!
