The strength of professional shops is that they can evaluate products from multiple angles and compare numerous brands based on the wealth of knowledge they have accumulated, on-snow trials, and user feedback. So we asked professional connoisseurs about products that they "highly rate" and "want users to know about." Of the many shops we asked, bindings were the one that "recommended" was concentrated in a very specific model

Recommendation: Peak Performance Futako Tamagawa
. The only pin tech binding that offers the same performance as a regular alpine binding. It's heavy and requires a lot of work to remove the head, but the sense of security when skiing makes up for it! It can also be used in the park, so it's recommended for those who don't have much climbing time or who want to do tricks!

Recommend: ski&snowboard shop Narrows
Tech bindings give you the power to climb, while
alpine bindings give you the security to ski.
Even when you're speeding down the icy slopes, you can focus on your skiing without worrying about your feet.

Recommendation:
TRUNKBASE is an innovative binding that switches between alpine mode when skiing and tech mode when hiking. It's light when walking and holds firmly when skiing, allowing you to ride with confidence. The best thing about it is that it can be used in the same way as a regular alpine binding.

Recommendation:
Peak Performance Sapporo. I recommend it for its good balance of lightness, ease of putting on and taking off, hiking mode, and gliding performance. For me, who has mainly used TECH, the fact that it can be used on the slopes without any problems is a major plus.

Mr. Minoru Kojiguchi
Recommendation:
Shugakuso Hokkaido University Branch. You can feel very safe when skiing. There is no need to worry about accidentally releasing due to snow clogging.

Recommendation:
Tyrol The balance between heel and toe height is just right. The current model has a single spring in the toe piece, so snow doesn't get clogged. The spring's strength has increased, so it has good retention and almost no accidental release. It has an overwhelming sense of stability and can be trusted on any slope.

Yamazato Toshihiro
Recommendation:
Ishii Sports Niigata store The heel piece holds the edge of the boot in place, minimizing edging loss and providing a direct response in this lightweight touring binding.

Recommendation:
BUMPS Sapporo When it comes to bindings for freestyle, this series is the one! It has the perfect balance of weight, balance, and swing weight. Compared to the previous model, the heel piece is lighter to press down on, making it easier to press down even when you're tired.

PAPASU freeski bindings. It was also the first binding with a horizontal spring. It is a very well-balanced binding with high holding power, weight, and release value settings. The design is also very good!

Recommendation:
Sanwa Sports Webstore Last season's Squire model no longer uses the SOLE ID system, but instead adopts GRIPWALK! This new Squire is even lighter! Four new colors are now available, catering to everyone from youth to adults and beginner freeskiers. And the price remains the same! Great value for money!

Recommendation:
NATURAL Although it is a rare model in Japan, it provides excellent stability for jibs and switches! It is heavy, but when you are actually skiing, you don't feel the weight at all, which is why I think it is the model that has the closest contact with the snow surface. In particular, because the heel height is low, the board is flat and the skiing is also flat, so it is a great binding that leads me to a good position.
There's little chance of accidental release, and even if you fall, the release feels very smooth, and there's less strain on your knees, so it's gentle on the body, which is what I like about them. Even falls are comfortable and fun to fall in. They also look good. I often get compliments on my bindings, like, "Those bindings are so cool!"
