BLUECLIFF, founded in 2000 by its representative, IFMGA and UIAGM international mountain guide Tomoo Takimoto, has been a guide service based in Hakuba Village, providing mountain guiding, backcountry skiing and snowboarding, and climbing guide services in Japan and around the world.

In Japan, the company offers backcountry guide services in the large fields of the Hida Mountains, the Northern Alps, and the Hakuba Mountain Range. The lineup includes short hikes open to beginners and experienced riders alike, one-day tours with extensive mountain skiing, and expert tours for advanced skiers. Based in Asahikawa, the company also offers ski tours throughout Hokkaido.

BLUECLIFF has long established a backcountry style for skiing and snowboarding, operating in Japan's most iconic mountain areas both domestically and internationally. Leveraging the extensive experience of its staff, the company offers a safe and enjoyable experience.

BLUECLIFF's signature "One Day Tour" for experienced hikers

The One-Day Tour is Blue Cliff's main tour, which takes you into the authentic backcountry area and is recommended for experienced backcountry skiers. The Hakuba area, home to the Northern Alps, offers short hikes that efficiently utilize the lifts, allowing you to ski on open runs with elevation gains of over 1,000 meters and deep tree runs.

Skiing in Hakuba, with its large mountains and deep valleys, requires not only skill and stamina, but also preparation and mental readiness to avoid danger. Please check the details beforehand if you wish to participate. The location and course will be decided the day before or on the day itself, based on the conditions and the level of the participants.

Event Period: Until Golden Week in May, advance reservations required.
Event Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Level: Beginners and above.
Equipment: Backpack, beacon, probe, shovel, etc.

At the age of 15, after reading Naoki Uemura's "Betting Your Youth on the Mountains," he traveled 1,200km on foot and camping from Ibaraki Prefecture to Takinoue Town, Monbetsu County, Hokkaido.
After that, he became actively involved in mountaineering and climbing in Hokkaido, Tanigawa, the Northern Alps, and the Southern Alps. At the age of 19, he became interested in climbing, including the Mont Blanc Major Route and the North Face of the Drus. He has since been active throughout the country, focusing on free climbing and backcountry snowboarding. In 2000, he moved to Hakuba Village and began working as a mountain guide.
