Shugakuso's Hokkaido University store was formerly known as the main store, and is a traditional store that established the base of Shugakuso. The store mainly sells mountaineering equipment, and in the winter it focuses on backcountry skiing and telemark skiing. The telemark section is one of the best in Japan, with a wide selection of gear on display and sale for enjoying powder snow, with advice from knowledgeable and experienced staff
The hotel is located a 10-minute walk north from Sapporo Station, right next to Kita-Junijo Station on the Namboku Subway Line, and has a parking lot with space for 25 cars. Easy access is also an attraction
