What is Ishiuchi Maruyama (Niigata Prefecture) like?
Ishiuchi: A long-established ski resort that never stops evolving
Ishiuchi Maruyama is a long-established ski resort that opened in 1949. However, it never rests on its laurels, and instead takes innovative steps to provide new facilities and services every year. The largest and most expansive ski slope in the Yuzawa area, it features 23 courses that make use of the varied terrain, and is covered in light "Uonuma powder" snow brought by the seasonal winds that blow in from the Sea of Japan
Another attraction of Ishiuchi Maruyama is that it is a fully-equipped park that is among the best in Japan in terms of size, number of items, and quality. It is also the strongest park in Japan, with the largest super pipe in the country, the "Gungho Monster Pipe." It also boasts one of the largest night games in the country

・Summit slope (tree run)
Maximum gradient: 35 degrees, average gradient: 15 degrees / Distance: 900m / Slope orientation: North
The summit slope offers a detour course that cuts through the forest, allowing you to enjoy tree runs. Although it is a short course, the snow quality is the best in Ishiuchi. The slope is steep, and the mountain stream terrain is intertwined among the trees, making it a fun-filled experience
・Summit slope
Maximum gradient: 35 degrees, average gradient: 15 degrees / Distance: 900m / Slope orientation: North
This is Ishiuchi Maruyama's signature course. In addition to the exhilarating ride that takes you right into the scenery in a spectacular location, there are also detour courses and banked terrain that you can ride on, making it a popular course that you'll want to enjoy over and over again, changing your line
・Dynamic course
Maximum gradient: 24 degrees, average gradient: 20 degrees / Distance: 430m / Slope orientation: North
This is a course where you can enjoy plenty of natural snow on a wide open run. Located at the bottom of the ski resort, it is a hidden gem, with less competition and a high chance of powder remaining

Recommended Gourmet
Snow Mountain Pancake @ The Veranda Ishiuchi Maruyama
This has been a signature cafe menu item at The Veranda since its opening. The combination of crispy warm pie crust with sweet fruit, whipped cream, and ice cream is exquisite. It also looks great! This is a very popular item. There are five flavors: caramel banana, apple cinnamon, mixed berry, chocolate banana, and honey lemon. I want to try them all!
