Superb powder and long runs just 60 minutes by car from Sapporo city
Sapporo International Ski Resort morning video
Sapporo Kokusai is an easily accessible city resort, just a 60-minute drive from Sapporo city, but the amount and quality of snow it offers is unbelievable. During the peak season, it accumulates nearly 3 meters of snow, making it a tough resort where you can ski right up until Golden Week.
All courses are long distances, so you can enjoy long powder riding after it snows, and when it doesn't snow, you can enjoy high-speed carving on beautiful grooming tracks. With a vast slope with a maximum running distance of 3.6km and a total of 7 courses rich in variety, it will satisfy all skiers and snowboarders.
From the top of the mountain, you can see the Sea of Japan, the Ishikari Plain, and a breathtaking panorama of beautiful trees lined with frost-covered trees.
Topics from the '25-26 season
"SNOW PLAYGROUND" where anyone can easily play in the snow to their heart's content
The newly opened "SNOW PLAYGROUND" is a snow play area where everyone from adults to children can have fun all day, even if they don't ski! "Snowboards with Bars" are snowboards with handrail-like bars attached, so anyone can easily try snowboarding without the need for boots or bindings. Other unique activities to enjoy include the thrilling "Snow Racer," which is like a go-kart on snow, "Snow Tubing," and "Snow Strider."
Enjoy Sapporo gourmet food at Lounge THE 6, where you can relax
The lounge, which utilizes the station building of the "6" gondola, a six-seater that was in operation from 1984 to 2020 and was named after the hexagonal shape of a snowflake, is a great place to relax between ski runs, and you can unwind at the entrance or on the terrace while looking out over the ski resort. The Japanese-style space surrounding the facility's iconic "signage tower" offers a high-quality space where you can enjoy the lingering feeling of snow and Hokkaido cuisine. There are also unique menu items, such as roasting marshmallows over a fire pit (artificial bonfire).
Recommended courses at Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort
・Downhill course
Maximum slope: 30 degrees Average: 15 degrees / Distance: 2,200 m / Slope direction: -
The pride of Sapporo Kokusai is the downhill course with a maximum gradient of 30 degrees. Because it is an uncompacted snow course, the vine slope extends for about 2.2km from the top to the bottom, and the feeling of sliding is overwhelming. You can use the sky cabin to rotate around this course, so it's also attractive that you can earn a lot of skiing.
A course where exceptionally high-quality powder snow accumulates near the top of the slope at an altitude of 1,100m. There is also a nice cafe ``SKS INTERNATIONAL'' at the top of the mountain, and you can slide around as much as you like with the comfortable hooded Echo Quadlift.
The Rinkan Course and the Fairy Tale Course are connected from the end of the 8-seater gondola sky cabin to the bottom in a large curve to the left. It's a gentle barn for beginners, but you can enjoy a long cruise of up to 3.6km. The morning after it rained too much, the compacted snow didn't make it in time, and there were times when it was full-length powder.

The ski resort's top recommendation for the 2025-2026 season is the "Special Kakuni Soy Sauce Ramen," which uses pork belly stewed in ginger soy sauce for a rich flavor. It comes with an egg, making it incredibly filling! Their spicy miso ramen is also a huge hit.
