What is Yuzawa Kogen Ski Resort like?

A 7-minute walk in the air takes you to an altitude of approximately 1,000m, and the spectacular views make this a great place to ski
It takes about 70 minutes by Shinkansen from the Tokyo metropolitan area, and then a 2-minute free shuttle bus from JR Echigo Yuzawa Station to reach the base of the ski resort. Yuzawa Kogen is characterized by its dynamic nature, as it takes just 7 minutes to reach the summit at an altitude of 1,000m from the base of the mountain on one of the world's largest ropeways, carrying 166 people. You'll definitely want to experience this "7-minute walk in the sky."
The slopes are divided into two areas: the "Highland Area" and the "Foothills Area." The famous course is a long run of 5km from the top to the base. Downhill skiing while enjoying the magnificent panorama of the Echigo Sanzan and Tanigawa mountain range is truly refreshing. During peak season or when low pressure arrives, you can expect high-quality powder snow in the Yuzawa area

You can travel between three ski resorts! "YUZAWA SNOW LINK」
For the 2025-2026 season, the "YUZAWA SNOW LINK" pass will be on sale, allowing visitors to freely travel between "Yuzawa Kogen Ski Resort" and the neighboring "GALA Yuzawa" and "Ishiuchi Maruyama Ski Resort." The connection of the three ski resorts creates a vast ski area with 48 courses, a depth of 900m, and a north-south stretch of 5,000m.
You can travel between each ski resort by ropeway, lift, or free shuttle bus, and enjoy a wide variety of courses.
Sales period: December 20, 2025 - March 22, 2026 (planned)
Price: 1-day pass for all three mountains: 9,500 yen / Advance online purchase: 8,500 yen

The wide main run is the widest intermediate to advanced run in Yuzawa Kogen. At the bottom of the run there is an ungroomed zone where you can enjoy powder snow.

a descending course that connects the plateau area to the foothills. From the upper entrance, you can enjoy a spectacular view of Minamiuonuma City, and a dynamic run that makes you want to jump in.

The Cordon Bleu at the panoramic restaurant "Edelweiss" is a French-style cutlet made by wrapping and deep-frying ham and cheese on top of the meat. Komako no Yu
Located close to Yuzawa Kogen Ski Resort, Komako no Yu is a charming hot spring named after Komako, the heroine of the novel "Snow Country." There is an exhibition corner for Yasunari Kawabata's "Snow Country." The bath is spacious enough to fit about 15 people. The chloride spring water is known for its moisturizing effect and for warming you up quickly. There is also a tatami rest area where you can relax. It is conveniently open until late at night.
