A fun participatory event for free heel skiing, "Freee 2022", will soon be held by the Japan Telemark Ski Association/Freee Project Executive Committee. People who are interested in telemarkers and telemarkers should gather at YAMABOKU Wild Snow Park in Nagano Prefecture!
■ What is “Freee 2022”?
Telemark skiing was originally skiing (=free heel skiing) for walking and sliding on natural snowy mountains (backcountry). "Freee" is a participatory event where you can easily experience the charm of telemark skiing on the slopes. In addition to a test ride event for the new model of the next term, it consists of a program that allows you to experience the fun of free heel skiing, such as telemark ski lessons, trial sessions, and races.
The past two seasons have been canceled due to the new coronavirus, but this season is a happy comeback! For the first time in 3 years, we have prepared measures to prevent the spread of infection, and we welcome the participation of many Telemark fans!
Introducing the attractive contents of "Freee 2022"!
1. Next term new model test drive event
A test drive event was held over two days. Related manufacturers will visit with their new models to showcase new products for next term and telemark ski related products that are not readily available in stores. Participants can try it out on the snow and listen to detailed stories from the manufacturer staff.
2. A full range of programs for beginners such as “selectable lessons” and “one-day experience sessions”
Japan Telemark Ski Association (TAJ) certified instructors provide lessons based on the themes of their respective fields and skills.
In addition, it is possible to participate as many times as you like, such as the "one-day experience session" that includes equipment rental and training, and the "Freee Women's Association" for women. In addition, on the natural terrain around the ski resort, there will be a “mini tour” where you can enjoy walking using stickers (non-slip) and off-piste skiing.

3. An introductory program to start telemark skiing
For those who are interested in telemark skiing, but don't know how to start, we held a "jump-in experience event". With equipment rental, the instructor will guide you, and the participation fee is free! Please take this opportunity to try it.
4. Variety of programs for intermediate and advanced players to enjoy
Programs such as the "Pole Skiing Experience," where you can ski on the pole sets you see in ski races, and the "Let's play with step soles," where you can enjoy the hills and fields using skis with scale-shaped skiing surfaces. Also, since the TAJ official race will be held, you can see the powerful skating of advanced skiers up close!

You can try new products for the next term and rare telemark ski related products!
<One-day experience session "This is you telemarker">
A one-day course that includes equipment rental, training, and participation in a test drive event.
<Lessons by theme>
TAJ certified instructors provide lessons in areas and techniques in which students are good at.
<Let's play with step soles>
Step soles unique to free heels. Let's play with scale-shaped skis.
<Yamaboku Mini Tour>
A mini tour of walking, climbing and sliding is held on the adjacent field of the ski resort.
<Pole skiing experience>
Set up an experience corner where you can set poles and actually ski (first day).
〈Fleece Cup (Telemark Ski Race)〉
The TAJ official race “Fleece Cup” will be held. Challenge yourself!
<Ski Orienteering>
Freee's famous event. The entire ski resort area will be used for sports day-style orienteering. A team game of three people. It is possible to participate alone as well as with friends.
<Various workshops>
A wide variety of workshops that are different from lessons and tours. Have fun making a snow table. There are also relaxing snow cafes and lectures on the theme of weather and environmental environment.
<Furie Market>
A shop opens in the tent village on the slopes for a limited time only! You can enjoy small shopping such as small items, accessories, and outlet items.
〈Telemark Ski Trial (free telemark skiing)〉
A one-hour trial session will be held. With equipment rental and instructor guidance. (*For this program only, it is OK without a free application)
