Ishii Sports' large-scale 2021/2022 ski new model test ride and order event has begun!
This is your chance to try out and compare many of the most anticipated new models from numerous brands and models all at once!
We've been waiting for this! Ishii Sports' new ski model test ride and order event for next season is about to begin.
This year's test rides will be held every weekend, starting this weekend, February 27th and 28th, at Tainai Ski Resort in Niigata Prefecture, and will take place at a total of 8 venues.
Of particular note are the test rides at Sugadaira Kogen Ski Resort on April 3rd and 4th, which will be the "largest test ride event in Japan," and the test rides at Geto Kogen Ski Resort on March 20th and 21st.
As in previous years, Sugadaira will be one of the largest ski resorts in Japan, with specially constructed pole courses for GSL and SL, and an estimated 500 or more participants.
The number of test skis will also be included, making it truly worthy of the title "one of the largest in Japan."
Geto Kogen will be held jointly by three Tohoku stores (Sendai Izumi, Akita, and Morioka)
Currently listed
as powder/freeride brands and models available for test rides are K2, Vector Glide, and DPS. K2 models planned for test rides include MINDBENDER, DISRUPTION, WAYBACK, VISION, BALDE, and RECKONER.
In the heavy snowfall area of Geto, mid-March still offers the chance to expect plenty of powder. It's a great opportunity to try out the feel of fat skis.
This season, Geto Kogen has also expanded its tree run area, making it a must-visit spot for STEEP readers.
If you can time your visit to coincide with an opportunity to test ride some of the new models you're interested in, it would be a lucky win-win situation!

[About participation]
• Advance registration is required to participate. Registration is currently being accepted at Ishii Sports ski retailers.
• Participation is subject to a fee. The Sugadaira test ride event costs 2,500 yen (tax included) due to its scale, while other venues cost 1,000 yen (tax included).
• Participants will receive a 1,000 yen discount ticket that can be used for the Custom Fair/Early Reservation! (2,500 yen discount ticket for Sugadaira)
