This winter, the Ski Association of Japan (SAJ), which supports the All Japan National Team, aims to discover and develop juniors with the potential to shine brightly in the future. They will be holding classes this year for juniors who are interested in or committed to freestyle skiing and snowboarding, teaching them basic skiing techniques, physical training, and competition rules. The lessons will be taught
by the Ski Association of Japan's national team coaches and trainers. Not
only will the content of the instruction be excellent, but this is also a rare and big opportunity for promising juniors to be scouted by SAJ.
Juniors aiming to become world-class athletes should definitely give it a try!
[Freestyle Skiing Classes] Halfpipe, Slopestyle, Big Air
Date and time: Saturday, December 25th, 2022 - Sunday, December 26th, 2022
Venue: Sapporo International Ski Resort
Capacity: 10 people
Content: Technical and training guidance by Japan Ski Association national team coaches and trainers, as well as courses by those with specialized knowledge in the relevant field
Instructors: Soichi Tozawa, Takayuki Saito, Josuke Arima, Chiho Terai
Participation fee: Free (however, participants must arrange their own round-trip transportation to the site, accommodation, and lunch)
Eligibility to participate:
- Boys and girls from 5th grade elementary school to 3rd grade high school (Parents and instructors can also participate in the physical training and rules seminars)
- Those who can ski on steep slopes
- Those who have personal injury insurance

The event is held with the aim of raising the level of domestic competitive ability, discovering local athletes, and sharing coaching methods!
[Snowboarding Class] Slopestyle/Big Air
The snowboarding class will be held in a series of six sessions. In addition to technical practice and physical training to strengthen the jumps and jibs required for slopestyle and big air competitions, the class will also provide lectures on various aspects surrounding athletes, with the aim of raising the level of competitive ability in Japan, discovering local athletes, and spreading knowledge of coaching methods.
The first four sessions have already been held. Participants are currently being recruited for the fifth and sixth sessions.

Venue: Karuizawa Prince Hotel Ski Resort
Capacity: 10 people due to gym usage

Venue: Hoshino Resort Nekoma Ski Resort (tentative)
Capacity: 30 people due to tournament format
Content: Technical and training guidance by All Japan Ski Federation national team coaches and trainers, and lectures by various experts
*Classroom training program (planned): Physical training, biomechanics, judging, sports injuries, goal setting, nutrition, etc. (Subject to change depending on the progress of the course.
*Some programs will be open to parents and local instructors.)
Participation fee: Free (however, participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements to and from the venue, accommodation, and lunch)
Eligibility:
- Anyone who can practice jumping (regardless of size)
- Those who have personal injury insurance
- Those who can participate on all dates during each event
