The Ski Association of Japan (SAJ) is holding a freestyle skiing and snowboarding class for juniors! 

Learn from All Japan Ski Federation National Team coaches and trainers!
This freestyle skiing class also includes an audition element, aiming to discover and nurture junior talent.
Juniors aspiring to become athletes, take on this valuable big opportunity!

 

The All Japan Ski Federation (SAJ), which supports the All Japan National Team, will be holding classes this winter with the aim of discovering and nurturing promising junior skiers and snowboarders. The classes will cover basic skiing techniques, physical training, and competition rules for juniors who are interested in or currently participating in freestyle skiing and snowboarding. The
instructors will be coaches and trainers from the All Japan Ski Federation National Team.
Not only will the instruction be excellent, but this is also a rare and great opportunity for promising juniors to be scouted by the SAJ. Juniors aiming to become world-class athletes, we encourage you to take on this
challenge!

 

 

[Freestyle Skiing Classes] Halfpipe, Slopestyle, Big Air

Date and Time: December 25th (Sat) - December 26th (Sun), 2022
Venue: Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort
Capacity: 10 people
Content: Technical and training instruction by All Japan Ski Federation National Team coaches and trainers, and lectures by experts in the field
Instructors: Soichi Tozawa, Takayuki Saito, Yoshisuke Arima, Chiho Terai
Participation Fee: Free (However, round trip to the venue, accommodation, and lunch must be arranged individually)
Eligibility:

  1. Boys and girls from 5th grade elementary school to 3rd grade high school (Parents and instructors can also participate in the physical training and rules seminars)
  2. Those who can ski on steep slopes
  3. Those who have personal injury insurance

The event is held with the aim of raising the level of domestic competitive ability, discovering local athletes, and sharing coaching methods!

[Snowboarding Class] Slopestyle/Big Air

The snowboarding clinic is a six-part series. In addition to technical practice and physical training to strengthen the jumps and jibbing necessary for slopestyle/big air competitions, it also provides lectures on various factors surrounding athletes. The aim is to raise the level of competition in Japan, discover local athletes, and disseminate information on coaching methods.
The first four sessions have already been completed, and we are currently recruiting participants for the fifth and sixth sessions.

5th Session *Women Only (Up to 3rd year of high school)
Date: December 18th (Sat) - December 19th (Sun), 2022
Venue: Karuizawa Prince Hotel Ski Resort
Capacity: 10 people due to gym usage limitations
Content: Technical and training instruction by All Japan Ski Federation National Team coaches and trainers, and lectures by various experts

6th event,
February 27, 2022 (Sunday) *Dates and other details are being finalized.
Venue: Hoshino Resorts Nekoma Ski Resort (tentative)
Capacity: 30 people (due to the competition format)
Content: Technical and training instruction by All Japan Ski Federation National Team coaches and trainers, and lectures by various specialists.

*The classroom lecture program (tentative): Physical training, biomechanics, judging, sports injuries, goal setting, nutrition, etc. (Subject to change depending on the progress of the lectures)
*Some programs will be held with the joint participation of parents and community instructors.

Participation fee: Free (however, round-trip transportation to the venue, accommodation, and lunch must be arranged individually)
Eligibility:

  1. Anyone who can practice jumping (regardless of size)
  2. Those who have personal injury insurance
  3. Those who can participate on all dates during each event
