Brand's first full locker "SILVA"

It was this "SILVA" that made headlines at the exhibition held in Yokohama in February.
At 148-132-139, the ultra-wide shape immediately conjures up the impression that it's a powder ski. So please watch the video first.

SILVA 181, 188cm|148-132-139mm|R=25.4m (181cm), 28.2m (188cm)

Aiming to combine buoyancy, speed, maneuverability, and stability, the ski was born after many tests, and has a wide waist that allows easy operation in powder. At the same time, it brings light weight and operability that are indispensable for pursuing the fun of free riding. Despite this shape, it weighs 1920g (1/2 pair), which is less than 2kg at 181cm.

The core material of the ski made this possible. Shell top (sandwich) structure wood uses carbon fiber for ultra-lightweight wood core, and special FRP is used in between. In addition, the composition of the wood core on the inner edge and the outer edge has been adjusted in detail, and the balance has been changed to suit this ski, and fine adjustments have been made. When you actually put on the skis, you should feel the weight is lighter than you imagined.

The shape with outstanding impact, with the outer edge of the top and tail sculpted inward, helps the operation of the inner leg, which tends to be difficult to step on, and brings about the effect of stable turns.

The brand's first full rocker shape is the result of the technology we have cultivated so far. It is based on the long nose shape. It has a shovel shape made up of multiple arcs, with a long, gentle rise from the contact point to the nose. The wider the shape of the model, the shorter the contact length, the more comfortable it is to operate, and the more sharp the turns. Taking advantage of this performance, we have newly developed a full rocker. The smooth arch shape smoothly catches the snow surface, and the outstanding operability enables speedy turns.

What is the intention of the developer, Mato Hirase?

This ski was developed by Mato Hirase, a rider living in Hakuba. He skis top-to-bottom while picking up changes in terrain, and runs down slopes at high speed in the backcountry. The ski he wanted was exactly "SILVA". I listened to the story behind the development here.

One of our recent ski development themes is weight reduction without sacrificing riding performance.
This is achieved by combining the evolution of the materials that make up our skis, the development capabilities we have built up over the years, and the technical capabilities that shape them, all at a high level.

"SILVA" also has a wide shape that specializes in powder, but achieves ultra-lightweight while placing high riding performance.
The key is the speed at which you make improvements from test to test.

Powder skis still need to be tested in powder, and you don't get to do that very often during the season. Because we are a manufacturer with a production plant in Nagano City, which is located in the center of snowy fields such as Hokushin and the Northern Alps, we can repeat tests until we are satisfied and can create products with confidence. Contrary to its appearance, "SILVA" is light, and of course it has amazing buoyancy in powder. The flex is supple, and it feels like it's mainly operated underfoot, so it's surprisingly easy to capture snow like monaca.

"BLASTRACK" is a shell top structure that uses a natural wood core material in all models.

It can be said that the feature of the brand is that each ski is designed to maximize the suppleness and response of the wood. That is because it is a free ski brand of the long-established domestic brand OGASAKA FACTORY, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2012. From ski development to manufacturing, it is a brand that boasts high quality made in Japan, mainly in its own factories and fields in Japan.

See the brand's website for details on all models.
