A mid layer that combines design and functionality while being reusable | PERMANENT UNION

To enjoy the beauty and harshness of nature.
PERMANENT UNION, a brand created while listening to the realizations and wisdom of snow mountain specialists.

nature is wonderful

What is needed to further pursue this feeling that everyone who is fascinated by snowy mountains has? It is not only the ski equipment that has made it possible to enjoy the endlessly beautiful, but sometimes harsh nature of winter in this way. It's a piece of clothing that can withstand the cold, doesn't hinder any kind of movement, and makes you feel good when you wear it.

Fullmarks original wear brand "Permanent Union Permanent Union" was born in 2013. The concept is as follows.

Be at your best when you're in the mountains

I love spending quality time in the mountains surrounded by nature. I'm a little proud of myself for being absorbed in such a game. That's why I want to wear the best clothes that allow me to be myself so that I can enjoy the mountains as much as possible.

Fusion
of design and functionality and reuse

Permanent Union is a brand that incorporates the opinions of specialists such as mountain guides, ski and snowboard riders, and combines functionality for snowy mountains with design that can be worn comfortably in the city.

Since its birth in 2013, it has been favored by many skiers and snowboarders for its original style and high product quality. And from this season, a new initiative called "reuse" has started. The representative products are the "button-down shirt" and "side-in pocket" introduced this time.

BUTTON DOWN SHIRT

SIDE IN POCKET SHIRT

Standard mid-layer
"button-down shirt" and "side-in pocket" evolved

Permanent Union's "button-down shirt" and "side-in pocket" are standard mid-layer models that the brand has proposed since its inception.

This item received two updates this time. One is the design.

This time, for the first time, Sami Tolppi, the former designer of "FRANK DANDY", which is also available at Full Marks, is the art director and designer of Last Resort AB, a Swedish skate shoe brand that he started himself. . The button-down collar and stylish buttons on the cuffs give an urban impression. As you can see, not only can you wear it comfortably in the city, but it also has a stylish finish that looks great in the city. With this, even when you get off the mountain and take off the shell, it's cool as usual.

I am particular about having a tight collar.

Being reusable rather than sustainable

The second evolution is the renewal of the fabric. This time, we have adopted a new wool fiber fabric called “Keshichi”, a textile brand born from Bishu, Aichi Prefecture, which is one of the world’s leading wool fabric production areas. The texture of the wool is maximized and the comfort is outstanding.

“Mohashichi” is a 70% wool mixed fabric made with the traditional recycling technology of Bishu, “wool regeneration”. It is a precious reused material that takes a lot of time and effort to collect old clothes, cut them into small pieces by hand, extract only the wool, turn it into thread, and recycle it into fabric.

Proof of "Moshichi"

Lastly, Mr. Sakizaki of PERMANENT UNION commented, "We think sustainable is not about making sustainable products, but about making them sustainable. Rather than making sustainable products, we need to make them sustainable. Giving life to things that shouldn't be possible.Thinking about what kind of things we should create, and at the same time thinking about how we can avoid destroying the earth as much as possible with the "things" that have already been created in space. As someone who is in the position of making things, it is a difficult problem that I have to think about more, but I will do what I can do little by little. This time, the answer was "reuse." Add value by making the most of things that can be thrown away. "

The Japanese sense of “mottainai” has become eco-friendly outdoor wear.

Old clothes that someone no longer needs become
someone's best

At STEEP, we interviewed Mr. Sakizaki of Full Marks about his thoughts on this product. Please take a look at this video.
