Limited edition of MINDBENDER
in collaboration with Sean Pettit
On February 17, 2021, in the middle of the season, "Mindbender108Ti" & "Mindbender130 Burst" were released. This is a limited model of MINDBENDER developed in collaboration with team rider Sean Pettit who has been leading the K2 ski for many years. There was a thought behind its birth.
“When we launched the Mindbender collection three years ago, we set a goal to convey the vision of freeriding through a rich product range. I knew that for skiers in Vermont, Whistler, Chamonix and Niseko, 'freeride' meant something different.
That's why we thought we had to go further and push the sport of skiing, and the gear it's made for, to new heights. We asked longtime K2 team rider Sean Pettit to come up with a way to bring in a bit of traditional flavor, and by collaborating with Sean, this project was brought to life, and this limited edition is now available. Realized.
We looked to K2's iconic freeride skis, the Merlin 7, circa 1998 and wanted to move forward while staying true to our roots. The result is something that we are really proud of.”

Mindbender 108Ti technology is remarkably good at running from compacted snow to powder.
The "Titanal Y Beam" and "Power Wall" technologies that bring out the high gliding performance that is the characteristic of the Mindbender.
The "Titanal Y Beam" is made by arranging titanium pieces like the letter Y, the silver part seen in the photo below. By adjusting the titanium sheet for each part along the edge of the ski, the entire width of the foot at the foot, and the tapered shape at the tail, power transmission and controllability are enhanced, resulting in outstanding stability.
Also, the "Powerwall" is an ABS sidewall (red part in the photo below) built into the wood core in the center of the ski for direct and precise power transfer to the edges.
You can slide freely with high operability even in powder, and sharpness is remarkably good in hard burn. This ski has a high potential for skiing both on-piste and off-piste.
