Hiroki Ito's setup

Review of the entire setup

What kind of places and situations is this setup designed for?

Backcountry during the harsh winter and powder season from December to early March.
I think it would be useful anywhere in Japan, but I'm especially thinking of skiing down large slopes like Hakuba, and descending on terrain that is almost adventure-like at the end.

Please tell me why you chose this setup.

With a perfect ski center of 117cm, it can handle all-round conditions, from waist-deep powder to spring sand. I feel like the flat camber and rocker shape are at their best in deep powder, bad snow, heavy packs, etc.

ski impressions

FACTION LA MACHINE 4|L=185cm|D=139-117-131mm|2022-23 model (image is 2023-24 model)

What are your impressions of the performance and ride quality of this ski?

You can go anywhere with this one season book!

In addition to that, please let us know what you like about this ski, such as its design or other points.

I like the simple black-based design.

What kind of people is this ski recommended for?

Recommended for those who want a little more maneuverability in their skis in the backcountry.

boots impression

LANG TOUR PRO XT3 130|2022-23 model

What are your impressions of the performance and comfort of these boots?

Although they are lightweight and have a rubber sole, they feel like alpine boots.

In addition to that, please tell us what you like about these boots, such as the design or one point.

It's nice that it's easy to put your feet in in the morning when you're sleeping in a tent.

Binding impressions

DYNAFIT RADICAL | DIN release value: 10 | 2022-23 model

What are your impressions of the performance and feel of this binding?

Since it is a tech binding, it is lightweight and puts less stress on your body in backcountry environments.

In addition to that, please let us know what you like about this binding, such as its design or other points.

The part where you attach ski crampons is simple.

What kind of people do you think this binding is recommended for?

Recommended for those who are looking for something that is not too biased towards either climbing or sliding in the backcountry.

Please tell me where to install the binding and why.

Classic. I think it's a little slippery in the mountains when you're at the back.
