Storage and maintenance of off-season skis - How to ask a specialty store?

How should I store my skis when the season is out and the off season is about to begin? Do you wax? What about bindings? what about the edge? Skis at the end of the season are often "tired" on both the running surface and the edges after skiing on various slopes and snow. In order to be able to ride in good condition next season, it is important to store it during the off season. So, if this is the case, let me tell you the information that you can ask for care and storage at a specialty store from a super easy level that you can do yourself. Why don't you consider making your precious my ski last longer?

The person who taught me: SKI SHOP Vail Yuta Shiraishi

This simple step makes a huge difference in how you hold your skis!

I'm Shiraishi, in charge of the clothing and accessories for SKI SHOP VAIL.
What would you like to discuss today?
The season is almost over, how should I store my skis during the off-season?
Skis wear down the running surface due to friction with the snow. Edges are often damaged. If possible, it would be ideal to take it to a pro shop for a tune-up, have the running surface and edges maintained, and store it.
Possibly, if there is a chance in the future, I may go to the backcountry in early summer. First of all, is there a simple storage method that I can do myself?
Confirmed! So let's go with this simple method. No iron or wax is required, so anyone can do it easily. By the way, if there is such an item, it is OK. This time, GALLIUM products that we carry in our store.
Left/Cleaner Right/Edge rust removal & rust prevention (GALLIUM)
The most important thing to keep in mind when storing skis during the off-season is the running surface. It's not good to leave a lot of dirt on it, so it's important to remove the dirt on the running surface first. First, clean the surface with a liquid or spray cleaner.
Try using a liquid cleaner. Of course, you can also use the spray type. Drop a little liquid on the running surface.
After waiting for a while, wipe with iron paper while stretching the liquid. Home kitchen paper can also be used as a substitute. Avoid using tissues, as the fibers will stick to the running surface. You don't have to wipe it too hard, but it should be enough to remove the dirt until the paper turns black.
If there is dirt on the running surface, the board will gradually stop slipping. If you leave it in that state, the dirt will settle.
that's right. Always clean the sliding surface first when applying wax so that the board slides well.
I'm worried about the edges.
Apply rust preventative to the edges. This stick type is convenient. It is important to keep your skis well coated with anti-corrosion, as they will last longer.
Apply rust preventive to both the side and the running surface of the edge.
If the edges are rusted, use a rust-removing eraser to remove the rust before applying the rust preventive. Just apply it to the running surface and rub it gently.
Is this OK?

Also, don't forget to pour water over the bindings to remove the dirt, as dirt often accumulates on the bindings. Also, since there is still water remaining from cleaning the cleaner and bindings, wipe it with a towel to remove the moisture. If possible, let it dry for about a day before storing it.

What is the appropriate storage location?
Do not store outside. Also, avoid placing it in a hot and humid place indoors. A well-ventilated area is ideal for longevity.
It's surprisingly simple, isn't it? This seems possible.
Isn't it! That makes a big difference in how you hold your skis. That's why I want to take this little effort and save it. For those who are accustomed to applying wax, it is better to apply hot wax on top of this, but for off-season storage, cleaning the running surface and preventing rust on the edges is fine.
If you don't have time to do it yourself, don't have enough space, or if the boards are damaged, it's easier and safer to ask a specialty store to do it for you. What do you think of the service and the price?
