Immerse yourself in the snowy mountains with this motivational SKI T-shirt

INDEX

Because it's an essential item,
I have love and care for my T-shirts.

It's rare to find someone who's into sports who doesn't bother wearing a T-shirt. T-shirts are incredibly convenient and excellent. First of all, they're absolutely comfortable, require no ironing, are incredibly easy to move in, feel great against the skin, have excellent water absorption, synthetic ones dry quickly even when wet, simple designs are easy to coordinate, and allow for fashionable styling, etc. The advantages of T-shirts are endless.

Since they're an essential item all year round, why not incorporate your love of skiing into your choice? If there's a T-shirt that makes you feel like "I want to go skiing when I wear it," "It boosts my motivation for the season," "It puts me in the mood of the snowy mountains and is a little bit relaxing," or "I feel proud to be a skier," then you'll want to wear it.

So, the STEEP editorial team has picked out some T-shirts with ski-themed graphics.

The creator's thoughts are woven into the

There must be a reason why skiing is used as a motif. The thoughts and ideas of the creator are woven into the design and materials. Let's take a peek at the concept, the creator's attention to detail, and the story behind it

skier/Kouya Tanabe (nonsense. )

nonsense.

Once fierce rivals become partners, and
their dreams expand as they work together on ski-related designs.

The brand owners, Kojima Kanta and Tanabe Koya, are originally from Kyoto and Hiroshima, and first met when they were in elementary school. They competed in alpine skiing competitions and were rivals, constantly competing for first and second place in the Kansai region. However, they were good friends outside of racing, and when they were in high school, they were talking about starting a brand together, which led to them starting a garage brand

Tanabe says he's been hooked on backcountry (BC) skiing since last season.
"In BC, you can only ski down as far as you've climbed up. I've never been so moved by a single run before. I'm completely captivated. In BC, you can see scenery you can't see on groomed slopes and feel the grandeur of nature. I want to incorporate those aspects into my designs," he says.

"We want to express ourselves through film photography and design. Because it is run by young designers in their early twenties, we have created a brand that is easy to relate to, but also has good performance and is easy to use. Products that can be used on the street. Our dreams are limitless."

hana S/S Tee

Size: M, L, XL
Color: White, Sand
Material: 100% Cotton
Price: ¥4,500 (tax included)

The graphic was created by arranging flowers in Onitsuka Tiger boots from 40 or 50 years ago and photographing them with a film camera. "We are also interested in environmental issues. We want to share with everyone the idea that we should use things until they become 'old' and that old things can still be used. We hope that this will ultimately lead to increased awareness of environmental issues and actual results."

BOGEN

Words are unnecessary;
the design and comfort speak for themselves.

BOGEN is celebrating its 10th anniversary since its launch in 2011. Owner and designer Takeshi Ogawa grew up skiing in Hokkaido, and he has been making T-shirts with the hope that skiing will continue to be a cool and fun sport

"Clothes don't need to be explained too much. I thought it would be more interesting to convey the fun of skiing without explaining it," says Ogawa, who is particular about comfort. BOGEN T-shirts have a slightly thick fabric that feels great against the skin. They have many fans due to their design, materials and high quality

The words "SKI LIFE" were printed with the hope that skiing would become a part of everyday life, that going skiing would not be something special, and that skiing would be a part of everyday life. Designer Ogawa says, "I feel a bit embarrassed to say SKI LIFE now, but I'm glad I made it when I was still overflowing with passion."

I remembered that my father had given me a carving knife, so I used that to carve it," he said, describing the piece as a nostalgic piece

Nagano Prefecture Ski Federation

With the desire to "boost snow sports from Nagano,"
a collaboration T-shirt with Hangernock Originals was created.

The Nagano Ski Federation is an organization that works to develop and strengthen ski and snowboard athletes in Nagano Prefecture, as well as to popularize and promote snow sports

With the aim of "promoting snow sports from Nagano," the federation is collaborating with ski resorts and local governments to plan and run snow events that aim to attract new skiers through fun snow experiences. Federation instructors provide gear fittings and ski lessons, and the events are said to be lively gatherings that attract many families

This T-shirt is one of a series of efforts to revitalize skiing. The apparel brand "Hangernock originals" agreed with the desire to promote skiing, and the collaboration was realized. Both parties wanted to create a T-shirt that would make you want to go skiing just by wearing it

P&M

By creating T-shirts to preserve these
important social messages, we can prevent them from being forgotten.

Owner and designer Susumu Kikutake began making T-shirts dealing with current events in 2004. He had been creating contemporary art pieces on social issues since his student days in Fukuoka, but he didn't have many opportunities to show them to people. He thought that if he put them on T-shirts, they would catch the eye of many people in the city and be seen by them.

After that, he moved to Tokyo and started making T-shirts seriously, and in 2010 he began selling "Kichijoji T-shirts" on the streets. The following year he opened a store in Shibuya, and his "T-shirt for the day Horie was imprisoned" received a lot of attention on television.

"News just flows by and passes by. So by making social issues into T-shirts and keeping them alive, we can keep important things from fading away. I felt that it had a lot of potential as a message. I also really like comedy, so I find it fun to make people laugh or poke fun at things with humor or satire," says Kikutake

The Jiji lineup has been accumulating since 2004 and consists of over 400 items. Each T-shirt is handmade individually, and can be made as soon as an order is placed. If you order in-store, it can be completed and delivered in 20 minutes. Even if you order online, it can be shipped the next day. The reasonable prices are due to the fact that as the items are based on current events, some can only be worn for a short period of time, so the company wants people to wear them as casually as possible

If you bring your own design materials, they can produce original T-shirts in quantities of 10 or more, or you can even order from the planning stage by telling them your ideas and having them come up with a design

Established in 2005, SKI THE EAST is a brand that expresses the unique mountain culture and passion for skiing of the American East Coast.

The East Coast has produced many big-name freestyle skiers, but the environment there is by no means ideal. On the East Coast, 10cm of snow is considered powder! -20℃ in January is nothing compared to this world. SKI THE EAST is an independent brand that supports East Coast skiers who have worked diligently and passionately in such a world. In Japan, it is distributed by Ski Bum Trading Co., Ltd.
