The ski resorts in this area certainly do get a lot of snow, but it's unstable, so artificial snow machines are always on hand. Therefore, moguls, snow parks, and skiing styles on hard slopes such as technical selection are popular.
Takasu Snow Park & Dynaland, which represents this area, has expanded its tree run area in recent years.
It is said that this tree run area has become a powder heaven this year with a lot of snow. Local skiers Kosuke Kusakari, Masato Takeshita Yoshiharu, and Yuki Kuwabara are skiing.
Takasugi and Dynaland are located at the foot of Mt. Dainichigatake and are connected halfway up the ski resort. The size of the mountain and the abundance of slopes have great potential, and there are seven tree run areas in total between the two ski resorts. And on such heavy snow days, it is so popular that snow parks and slope freaks rush to the uncompacted snow and tree run area at once. Because powder snow is precious, it is highly competitive and disappears in no time. And the quality of the snow is also superb.
On this day, it was a soft, elastic powder that contained just the right amount of water up to my knees. You can enjoy the texture of the snow that bounces back when you step on it, which is a little different from the smooth powder of Hokkaido.
The tree run powder in the Okumino area shows its potential as you can see if it rains. Please check the weather map and experience it.
