That number is number one in Japan!
Overwhelming tree run course

Madarao Kogen Ski Resort is located on Mt. Madarao in the northern part of Nagano Prefecture. Many of the courses face the north slope, so you can enjoy high-quality powder by repeatedly falling and accumulating high-quality snow. At 1,350 meters above sea level, it is not very high, but there are no mountains to block the surroundings and the view is outstanding. Its deep powder is called “Mada Pau” by powder-loving skiers and snowboarders, and has attracted many fans.

The tree run course opened in 2009 and has been expanded year by year. Madarao's Tree Run is particularly popular with snowboarders, and the staff heard the snowboarders say it was fun. In the 2020-21 season, a total of 11 locations will be opened, and the number is famous for being the most in Japan.

The strength of Madarao Tree Run is that it can be enjoyed by everyone from the core layer to families.

With a wide variety of courses that take advantage of the abundant terrain, Madarao offers powder and tree runs for everyone, regardless of skill level, from core powder freaks to family skiers.

One of them is the "Family Adventure Course". This is a general term for several tree run courses that are not steep slopes. For example, the Rabbit Course, which has an average slope of 12 degrees, can be skied even by Bogen's children, so the whole family can enjoy tree runs in a beautiful forest. There are three courses in all, and you can easily experience the tree run with peace of mind.

Take a look at the slope map above. The green part is the tree run course. There are 11 courses open in the 2020-21 season, and you can feel the scale that spreads across the mountain. Let's briefly introduce the features of each course along the numbers on the map.

SAWA 〜Natural Pipe〜 (①)

Total length: 1,000m / Maximum slope: 28°

You can experience a unique gliding feeling due to the combination of powder and natural pipe-shaped topography.

Once you enter the course here, don't stop. If you connect the line to the right and left according to the natural terrain that comes one after another, the feeling is exactly the half pipe. Although the distance is long, the slope is gentle, so it is easy to control the speed and enjoy it within an acceptable range. The wall part has a gradual slope, so you can fly or hit it freely. The course becomes narrow tubular terrain as it progresses to the bottom.

SAWA2 〜Natural Pipe〜 (②)

Total length: 500m / Maximum slope: 27°

Located at the top of SAWA 〜Natural Pipe〜 and about half the length. You can also enjoy flowing riding on the natural pipe topography.

NINJA (③)

Total length: 450m / Maximum slope: 31°

Course "NINJA" that connects at the bottom of "Powder Wave II". NINJA's specialty is the 7m high ladder jumping platform in the photo above. like a ninja? I would love to fly! If you slide from "Powder Wave II" to NINJA, the distance will be nearly 2km. There are not many tree runs where you can enjoy such a long ride.

Powder Wave II (④)

Total length: 1,500m / Maximum slope: 35°

The area is wide and the trees are well-spaced, so you can enjoy the terrain while enjoying the super-comfortable 1,500m tree run.

With a maximum gradient of 35 degrees and a total length of 1,500 meters, Powder Wave II is a course with a special presence that represents Madarao. If you connect to the course "NINJA" that connects at the bottom, you can earn a considerable distance. There are ups and downs in the forest, and there are places where it is intense depending on the line selection. Because it is easily affected by the wind, it is also characterized by changing conditions. You can enjoy the view while riding the natural waves rhythmically.

Powder Theater (⑤)

Total length: 600m / Maximum slope: 36°

The advantage of the powder theater is that it can be rotated with a single lift. The distance is short, but you can enjoy the tree run efficiently. There are unexpectedly tight and challenging parts between the trees, so it is fun to ride while thinking about the line.

Crystal Bowl (⑥)

Total length: 1,000m / Maximum slope: 33°

A tree-run course in a bowling field located in the central part of the mountain. The length and slope are irresistibly fun for those who like to ski. If you have plenty of fresh “mada pow”, you can enjoy the best feeling by raising the overhead spray with a steep and deep face.

River Line (⑦)

Total length: 700m / Maximum slope: 37°

The tree run course next to the super quad. The access to the lift is excellent, so it's perfect for those who want to practice how to ski on uncompacted snow. It's next to the lift that moves first, so it's recommended in the morning after a snowfall.

Rabbit ~Family Adv~ (⑧)

Total length: 300m/Maximum slope: 32°

Let's go on a forest adventure with family, friends and colleagues! One of the tree course Family Adventure of the concept. There are three courses: Rabbit, Serow, and Bear. KAM0SHIKA 〜Family Adv〜(⑨)

Total length: 600m / Maximum slope: 25°

One of the family adventure courses. Although it is a gentle slope as shown in the photo, you can enjoy tree runs and plenty of powder. Easy access from the main slope is also good. Enjoy your first powder experience on a gentle slope tree run.
