Experience the backcountry of nature with ski slope access

Easy access, just 5 minutes by car from the Muikamachi IC on the Kanetsu Expressway. On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, a shuttle bus to Muikamachi Station on the JR Joetsu Line runs on a regular schedule. There are 12 different course layouts, from a kids' park to a medium slope where you can enjoy fast turns, and an uncompacted snow course where you can enjoy powder snow.

Until now, the impression was that it was aimed at beginners and families, but if you hike up about 150m from the top of the lift, you can enjoy a deep powder ride in a fascinating off-piste field. Additionally, you can access mountain courses that are outside the management area. You can enjoy mountain skiing that allows you to feel the great outdoors while being easy to access from the slopes, making it perfect for your first backcountry experience. It has become a special powder spot, attracting the attention of powder enthusiasts.

Snow magic generation support project

Smile Resort, which operates Muika Snow Resort, supports a winter sports lifestyle for 18 to 22-year-olds as the "snow serious generation." Muika Snow Resort offers a great service: 1-day lift tickets are free for 18 and 19 year olds, and half price for 20 to 22 year olds. It would be a waste if the snow serious generation doesn't go out and have some fun!

Days marked with “6” are “Muika Day”!

6th, 16th, and 26th of every month! Days marked with a ``6'' are ``Muika Day.'' Those who purchase a 1-day or 4-hour lift ticket with cash at the on-site lift ticket sales office will receive a 50% OFF 1-day lift ticket for use on their next visit.

Recommended courses at Muika Snow Resort

・Application mountain course outside the management area

Maximum slope: 30 degrees Average slope: 20 degrees / Distance: 1,500 m / Slope direction: Southeast

The summit at the end of the hike-up zone is 748m above sea level, with an elevation difference of 400m from the base. If you ski non-stop from the top of the mountain, you can make a super long run with a total length of 1500m. Although trees grow here and there, the view is an open ridge. The area is not level, so you can enjoy the natural topography as it is.

Application is required for skiing. You must sign the designated application form at the lift ticket sales office and wear an armband. (A deposit of 1,000 yen is required for the armband. It will be refunded when the armband is returned.)

・Hike up zone & off piste field

Maximum slope: 33 degrees Average: 18 degrees / Distance: 1,500m / Slope direction: Southeast

After getting off the third pair of lifts, you can hike up about 150m (about 15 minutes) to the top of the ski resort (748m), and from there you can ski on an uncompacted snow course. Although the altitude near the summit is less than 1,000 meters, it is a sparsely forested area, almost like a forest line. A mysterious world spreads out with trees growing dotted around the vast slope.

・Eagle course

Maximum slope: 33 degrees Average: 16 degrees / Distance: 641 m / Slope direction: South

A course that descends off the outer edge of an off-piste field.
One lane is packed with snow. This is the longest course in the off-piste field, and is definitely worth hitting on a powder day. You can apply for mountain courses outside the management area here.
