Cupid Valley (Niigata Prefecture) is such a ski resort

A ski resort with a spectacular view and a hidden powder spot where you can ski while overlooking the Sea of Japan!

Cupid Valley, famous as a snowy ski resort, receives over 15 meters of snow annually!

Because it is located on the north slope, the snow quality is excellent. With a total of 12 courses and a longest run distance of 4,000 meters, there is a wide variety of slopes, including powdery uncompacted snow areas, tree runs, humps and steep slopes, slippery medium slopes, and a variety of beginner courses. Another feature is that all 12 courses can be accessed from the mountaintop. Is it a family ski resort because it has a full family-friendly environment such as a kids park? It would be a waste if you had that image in mind. Cupid Valley is a hidden gem of a powder field with a large tree run area.

Another big attraction of Cupid Valley is its beautiful scenery. On a clear day, you can enjoy a pleasant slide while admiring the spectacular view of Sado Island floating in the sea and the Sea of Japan from an altitude of 960 meters.

Cupid Valley recommended course

・Soleil Hire

Maximum slope: 30 degrees Average: 25 degrees / Distance: 400m / Slope direction: West

A challenging, uncompacted snow course for advanced skiers. Even on steep slopes with a lot of snow, you can still get good speed. Even if you don't go there first thing in the morning, there's still powder left, and even though it's on the slopes, you can often score several fast tracks without using any track. Another nice feature is that you can ski the long grooming course before approaching Soleil Hire.

・Lamer

Maximum slope: 28 degrees Average: 15 degrees / Distance: 1500m / Slope direction: North

Get off the quad lift that approaches the top of the slope and head to skier's left (left). The upper part of the 1500m long course is groomed on a gentle slope, and in the middle it becomes uncompacted snow and returns to the grooming burn. An advanced course with a perfect balance of compressed and uncompacted snow.

・Tree run area

100% powder! You can enjoy the course in its natural state. Even though it's a tree run, it's an open slope with some slopes, and you can ski anywhere on the open barn. It's great to have a sense of openness! It has become very popular among powder lovers.

On the day of the event, you will need to submit a consent form at the information desk on the 2nd floor of the Center House, or apply using the usage application form. The rules are to enter from the designated gate and to ski while being aware of the risks.
