Mountain ski resort popular with core skiers

Tanigawadake Tenjindaira Ski Resort is surrounded by mountains with an altitude of 2,000m and spreads between the two peaks of Tenjintoge and Takakurayama. This mountain ski resort is so popular with hard-core skiers that the high season weekends in January and February can be a battle for fast-track skiing.

When you get off the ropeway, you will see a vast snow field. Although there are only four lifts, the undulating terrain includes many steep and formidable faces, making for plenty of sliding action. The harsh weather conditions of the mountainous region of the Tanigawa Mountain Range bring an overwhelming amount of snowfall and powder snow of the highest quality to the ski slopes.

The backcountry (BC) area extending from the main peak, Tanigawadake, is accessed through a dedicated gate at the top. Climbing registration and BC equipment are essential. Due to the steep slopes, swampy slopes, and the risk of avalanches, you need to be very careful when skiing BC.
