FACTION's third entry, Roots, reveals the basics of freeskiing found in modern skiers.
From the caves of the Dolomites to the night views of Luca to the mythical peaks surrounding Verbier,
Roots takes you on a vibrant freeskiing spectral journey.

Movie projects have always been important to FACTION. We make movies in small teams as a way to communicate with skiers around the world. The point is to prepare an environment that is easy to see, such as Youtube and movie screenings, and publish it for free. Film for us is a way to engage and inspire the global ski community and provide our perspective on the sport.
We always pay attention to the abilities of our riders, but most importantly their personality. We are always drawn to real, passionate riders who want to bring something special to the sport. The performers are constantly growing. This is great. Having 26 riders in one film created a diverse team with different perspectives, backgrounds and visions. This makes for a great video!

ーWhere was the shooting location?
We shot at 7 locations: Mount Baker, Wyoming, USA, Dolomites, Italy, Luca, Switzerland, Verbier, Corvatsch, Crans-Montana.
ーWhat is the ideal image of the FACTION team?
It cannot be said that there is one ideal image. Our philosophy is for everyone to represent themselves as an individual and bring those individuals together as a team. As a collective, we can achieve much more than ourselves.
ーWhat do you want to convey to people watching ROOTS?
First, we want to inspire our audience to want to play outside wherever they are. Second, I wanted to show what the roots of freeskiing mean to us: the fundamental elements that make our sport such a unique one.
