Below is a comment from FACTION headquarters:

Movie projects have always been important to FACTION. We are a small team that produces movies as a way to communicate with skiers around the world. The key is to make them available for free and in an easy-to-view environment, such as on YouTube or at film screenings. For us, films are a way to engage and inspire the global ski community and offer our perspective on the sport

We always pay attention to the riders' abilities, but most importantly, their personalities. We are always drawn to genuine, passionate riders who want to bring something special to the sport. The cast is constantly growing, which is great. By including 26 riders in one film, we have a diverse team with different perspectives, backgrounds and visions. This makes for a great film!

We also got answers to questions from the editorial department.

-Where were the shooting locations?
We shot in seven locations: Mount Baker, Wyoming, USA; the Dolomites, Italy; Luca, Finland; and Verbier, Corvatsch, and Crans-Montana, Switzerland.

—What is your ideal image of the FACTION team?
It's hard to say there's one ideal image. Our philosophy is that everyone expresses themselves as individuals, and then we bring those individuals together as a team. As a collective, we can achieve far more than we could individually.

—What message do you want to convey to viewers of ROOTS?
First, we want to inspire viewers to want to play outside, no matter where they are. Second, we wanted to show what the roots of freeskiing mean to us—the fundamental elements that make our sport so unique.
