Yu Sasaki is based in Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada.
He was active in both competitions and filming for Heartfilms, but his participation in the FWT in 2019 brought him worldwide recognition.
His participation in the FWT gave him the opportunity to work with overseas movie productions and cinematographers, including Sammy Carlson, and he gradually shifted his focus from competition to filmmaking.
It was at this opportune moment that he suffered a serious injury in 2022, rupturing his Achilles tendon.
The video "EAGLE PASS," released today, February 2nd, tells the story of his recovery from that injury, with him acting as the storyteller. This video won the Thrill category at the American movie awards "Outside Magazine Awards."

Incidentally, the title "EAGLE PASS" was chosen because it refers to the location where the most filming took place.
