New avalanche transceiver "FOCUS PRO/VOICE" announced!

From ORTOVOX, a prestigious brand of avalanche beacons, comes two new high-end models for the 2026-2027 season: the FOCUS PRO and the FOCUS VOICE

The ORTOVOX voice navigation system, a hallmark of the brand, has been carried over and upgraded from "DIRACT VOICE," with a dramatically improved search range of up to 80-90m. This is nearly double the 50m search range of DIRACT VOICE, bringing it up to the level of what is considered modern high-end specifications

FOCUS VOICE

Digital 3-Smart Antenna
Search Range: 80-90m
Weight: 185g
Display Size: 35 x 58mm
Body Size: 12 x 7 x 2.3cm
USB Type-C Charging
Carrying Bag Included
¥89,000

Another major update is the digital/analog switching function incorporated into the "FOCUS PRO." What's even more surprising is that it not only allows switching between digital and analog, but also features a "hybrid" mode that allows for simultaneous use. This hybrid mode allows users to check the digital display while listening to the electronic sound of the analog antenna, making it very easy to use and significantly improving search accuracy

Maintaining accurate radio wave reception, and using the same lithium-ion battery as before, it can be charged with a USB Type-C mobile battery, making it very user-friendly. With features that can support the work of mountain professionals such as rescue teams and guides, this is a noteworthy model that is expected to play an active role in the future

The "DOWNWOOL" series combines duck down and Swiss wool

ORTOVOX, a company strong in wool apparel, is launching new items for the 26-27 season, including jackets and vests made with a new down-wool material from the Swiss company Grüezzi Bags. The garments feature a mixed construction of duck down and Swiss wool insulation. The insulation offers excellent heat retention, breathability, and warmth, making them ideal for snowy mountain environments

DOWNWOOL 180 Hood

This down wool jacket is perfect for lighter-equipped tours and active mountain hikes. Its versatility is a major plus, as it can be used as a mid-layer, a second shell, or even as an outer layer

• Compact and easy to store
• Includes storage bag and securing loops
• Helmet-compatible hood
Size: XS, S, M, L
Color: Dark Linen, Black Raven, Blue Nunatak, Tangerine (4 colors total)
¥57,000

This new material, thanks to its wool-blend processing, not only significantly reduces the loss of insulation due to water exposure—a weakness of down—but also offers excellent odor resistance and breathability to remove sweat. Because it maintains the warmth and packability of down, it 's attracting attention worldwide, especially in Europe, as a very comfortable 3rd and 2nd layer

The "VENET TOUR" is a must-have for backcountry adventures

One of the products that attracted attention from pro shops and users at the 26-27 exhibition was the new backpack series, "VENET TOUR." It is a backcountry backpack that clearly emphasizes durability and robustness for touring, and the name VENET was chosen to evoke the image of enjoying a leisurely ski tour at a resort in Austria

VENET TOUR 30

Capacity: 30L
Weight: 1170g
Color: Light Nunatak, Dusk Rose, Black Raven (3 colors total)
¥26,200

Despite being a backcountry pack, the VENET TOUR eliminates back access and instead features a semi-full-opening side zipper for access to the main compartment. A key advantage is that, despite being a side zipper, it opens deeply enough to easily access the main compartment even with skis or a snowboard attached

It comes standard with features such as a deep goggle pocket, attachments for equipment, and a helmet net. Its simple design, combined with its cost-effective and reasonable price, has been well-received by pro shops

BRAND features

Founded in 1976, ORTOVOX's roots lie in the work of electrical engineer Gerald Campell, who, inspired by his involvement in the development of a transceiver for mountain rescue, began crafting a backpack that could compactly store rescue equipment. Later, the company developed products such as a shovel and 100% wool innerwear, and in 1989 produced the ORTOVOX F1 avalanche transceiver, which is still used today by ORTOVOX. Since developing a series of innovative products, primarily avalanche gear, ORTOVOX has earned the brand a high reputation among professional guides in the Alps. ORTOVOX is passionate not only about craftsmanship but also about safety education. In 2008, they founded the SAFETY ACADEMY, and continue to provide a wide range of mountain safety knowledge and techniques to the world
