In the 2025-2026 season, the CORTEX ZONAL BOA® was released, combining cutting-edge technology with an even higher level of fit. This is the introduction of the Dual BOA®, which features two BOA® fit systems
With Dual BOA®, two laces wrap around the lower part of the lower shell, centered around the instep, and the upper part of the upper shell, from the shin up, and two dials allow for precise fit adjustments
The boot shell and upper cuff work together to encase the foot and shin, providing a uniform fit and reducing pressure points on the instep. The heel is also secured in the heel pocket to eliminate unnecessary movement. This high level of integration between the foot and boot results in significantly improved power transmission from the boot to the ski, as well as stability and maneuverability
The Cortex 140 Zonal BOA® was introduced as K2's flagship BOA-equipped ski boot, quickly dominating the world's top freeride competitions and even the Japanese basic skiing scene. Its quality was immediately recognized worldwide when Max Hitzig won the 2024 World Freeride Tour (WFT) wearing the Cortex 140 Zonal BOA®.
And in Japan, the winner of the 5th All-Japan Masters Ski Technical Championships held in Hakuba in February 2025 wore the Cortex 140 Zonal BOA®. While some say the 140 flex, stiffness, structure, and strong hold make it a racing boot for alpine racers, its appeal extends far beyond freeride and demo skiing.
Gota Sakamoto, a professional skier who regularly uses K2 Boots, commented on the gliding feel of the Cortex 140 Zonal BOA® as follows:
In addition, Reika Izawa from the K2 team spoke about the features and appeal of the women's model, the CORTEX 125 ZONAL BOA® W
K2's adoption of the BOA® Fit System and its proven track record with athletes sets it apart from other brands. As a pioneer of the BOA® Fit System, K2 is deeply involved in the future of ski boots. It will be interesting to see how the company develops in the future
Introducing the new "BLUR" series, the successor to DISRUPTION
There is a "BLUR" graphic on the tail. As you can see, the new "BLUR" series is available in seven models
In the 2025-2026 season, the "BLUR" series will debut, inheriting and further developing the outstanding performance of the legendary carving ski, the DISRUPTION. The DISRUPTION was developed with the aim of redefining the "on-piste carving performance" of skis, and its arrival had an impact that repainted the brand image of K2 SKI, which had previously been strongly associated with big mountain and freestyle skiing
Its emphasis on edge grip and stability at high speeds, combined with its ease of handling despite its metal construction, earned it high praise. The "BLUR" was released as its successor in the 2025-2026 season. The lineup, which incorporates new functionality in addition to the technology inherited from the DISRUPTION, is designed with a strong focus on on-piste carving and consists of four models: XT, 74, 76, and 79. While the XT is unisex, the 74, 76, and 79 are available in both men's and women's styles
Features of BLUR
The following technologies and special materials are incorporated into BLUR, giving it unique performance characteristics. It is also worth noting that BLUR actively uses materials that reduce the burden on the environment
K2 H Beam: High-strength titanium is arranged in an H-shape from the tip to the tail of the ski, optimizing power transfer and providing stable performance.
Bio Resin is an eco-friendly resin material that reduces the environmental impact of its manufacturing process, improving the durability and responsiveness of the skis.
Flax Shield: By using flax, a natural material with excellent vibration absorption properties, unnecessary vibrations are effectively suppressed, resulting in a comfortable ride.
AMAG Recycled Titanal: Featuring AMAG, a metal layer made from recycled titanium, AMAG improves the stiffness and durability of the ski.
The top model, the "XT," has a center offset of 82mm. It's designed for smooth, intuitive turn initiation, and the "K2 H-Beam" provides solid metal from tip to tail, providing excellent tracking and control. If you're looking for high performance, especially on the front side, this is the board for you
BLUR 74
BLUR 74 | 124-74-108 | R = 15.3m (176) | L = 155, 162, 169, 176cm | Bindings / MXC 12 TCx light Quikclik ¥119,000 (binding set price)
This model is the successor to the DISRUPTION SC model that was released up until the 2024-2025 season. It is designed with a focus on short turns and carving. The men's version uses flax, a natural material with excellent vibration absorption properties, which improves responsiveness and allows for quick edge-to-edge transitions. It is designed to make it easier to make sharp turns, especially in short turns
BLUR 76
BLUR 76 | 120-76-109 | R = 14.0m (170) | L = 156, 163, 170, 177cm | Bindings / M3 10 Compact Quikclik ¥68,000 (binding set price)
This model is the gateway to discovering the charm of tight carving and becoming addicted to it. The Blur 76 is designed to allow anyone to easily learn to turn and enjoy carving to their heart's content, even as a beginner
BLUR 79
The center width is a little wider at 94mm, making it highly versatile and capable for rough snow and ungroomed snow on the piste. The carving performance of the front side has been particularly improved
BLUR 79 | 120-79-108 | R = 16.3m (177) | L = 155, 162, 169, 176cm | Bindings / M3 11 TCx light Quikclik ¥110,000 (binding set price)
Explanation and video of K2 team athlete "Puccho" competing in the technical competition
Since the release of DISRUPTION, K2 has expanded into the world of basics. They have formed a team to take on technical challenges. Suzuki Hiroki, also known as "Puccho," is one of the team members. He test drove the BLUR and posted a video on his YouTube channel
He also provided a comment to the editorial department
The "BLUR" is a very lightweight and nimble ski that provides excellent stability and rigidity during turns, making it a ski that can be enjoyed in any type of snow
The skis are good enough for the first-grade technical and crown level tests. They're essentially all-mountain models, but they're light, stable, and easy to handle, so they're good enough for the prize exams, and can also be enjoyed on spring snow or in deep snow
[Profile] Yuki Suzuki isa member of the DISRUPTION team. Also known as "Puccho," he hosts the "Adult Ski Channel (tentative name)," where he provides his unique perspective on skiing techniques, product reviews, and skiing footage.
If you unravel the history of freeskiing, you'll almost always end up here. Starting with the hip mogul guru Glenn Plake, K2 has been used by leading big-mountain riders of the era, including Seth Morrison, Kent Kreitler, and Shane McConkey. Along with these riders, who caused mayhem in major ski movies from MSP and TGR, K2 has dominated the freeskiing world and gained immense support
The late Shane McConkey introduced the "Pontoon," a pioneering full rocker, and it's hard to forget how rocker shapes have since become standard. They offer a diverse lineup across a wide range of genres, actively collaborate with artists, and offer many unique and distinctive models. They're suitable for all types of riding, from big mountain to backcountry and park riding. They also have a wide selection of models for women
