NIDECKER's roots and manufacturing philosophy

In 1887, when Henri Nidecker established a woodworking workshop in Switzerland, a brand was born. Their initial work involved manufacturing farm equipment and wagon wheels. The skill of precisely bending and shaping wood was accumulated during this early period. In the 20th century, taking advantage of their location at the foot of the Alps, they shifted their focus to manufacturing wooden skis. Then, in 1984, when the new culture of snowboarding was just beginning to spread globally, NIDECKER was quick to release the first snowboard to the world

NIDECKER is one of the oldest and most established snowboard brands still in operation in Europe. The Nidecker family has managed the company for five generations since its founding, maintaining its independent family ownership, which is quite rare in this industry. Their headquarters, where design and manufacturing take place, are still located overlooking the beautiful Lake Geneva in Switzerland

Looking back at NIDECKER's technological development, several projects that influenced industry standards emerge. NIDECKER was involved from an early stage in the standardization of the insert format (4x2) used to secure boards and bindings, which is now commonplace

This trend of creating compatibility between different brands forms the foundation of today's snowboarding culture, where riders can freely combine gear

And a product that symbolizes NIDECKER in recent years is the Supermatic® Binding, which redefined the binding market in the 2020s

NIDECKER's riding philosophy of "Step in, ride out (step in and start immediately!)" gave birth to this innovative product. The world's first system that allows you to ride simply by sliding your foot into the binding and pressing down with your heel, and that can be combined with boots from any brand, had a huge impact on the entire snowboarding industry

In board development, the accumulation of proprietary technologies continues. The flagship model, "Megalight," features a fifth-generation structure combining forged carbon and 3D molding. Simultaneously developed is "Orbital Cushioning™," which reduces vibrations generated at the connection point between the binding and the board (around the insert). While the area around the insert is structurally difficult to place cushioning material in, a new manufacturing process has made implementation possible. This season, this technology is being incorporated into models across the entire lineup, moving towards delivering the results of this development to more riders

Even in boots, the design goes beyond simply combining off-the-shelf components, as seen in the placement of lace guides that conform to the asymmetrical shape of the shoe last, achieved through joint development with BOA®. The philosophy of viewing boots, bindings, and boards not as separate products, but as a single riding system, is the core principle that runs through all of Nidecker's development

One of NIDECKER's distinguishing features is its close relationship with riders, which allows for direct incorporation of feedback from the field into product development. The brand's motto is "Different by Design." This development mindset, which involves constantly questioning and changing the fundamentals of the design rather than settling for superficial improvements, is one of the strengths that underpins NIDECKER's manufacturing

The "Supermatic®" series, which fundamentally changed the convenience of snowboarding, has evolved even further for the 2026-2027 season with the high-end model* "LT Supermatic®". This model is positioned between the original OG Supermatic®andthe carbon-reinforced Carbon Supermatic®, with a mid-flex stiffness. The underside of the ankle strap has a slippery material attached, allowing for quick on and off. The toe strap is 3D, providing an excellent fit and extremely responsive feel.

The newly developed "Nylon + Auto S" baseplate used in the LT model achieves both lightweight design and high durability. Furthermore, by combining it with a rigid highback that provides greater support than the OG, it achieves quick power transfer to the edges and responsive performance that can withstand hard riding. Another attractive feature is that the rocker design with rounded corners of the baseplate does not impair the board's natural flex. This new model exudes the pride of a long-established Swiss brand, with an excellent balance of Tech and Look (latest technology and appearance)

One of the most noteworthy topics for the 26th-27th is the introduction of the new model, "Tape Deck." With its true twin shape featuring a steep nose and tail kick reminiscent of 1990s jib boards, its design, which strongly reflects the influence of skate culture, is eye-catching

In contrast to its nostalgic silhouette, the internal structure incorporates cutting-edge modern materials without compromise. The strongly set kick makes it easy to initiate tricks like spins and butters, and the design allows for intuitive approaches to banks and walls. Furthermore, the wider waist enhances low-speed stability and float performance in powder. This is essentially an upgraded version of a 90s-style twin board, optimized for modern riding

The combination of a retro look and cutting-edge technology makes this product a perfect example of NIDECKER's "Different by Design" philosophy. With five different graphics available for each size, it also offers collector's appeal. This board is ideal for freestyle-oriented riders and those who want to enjoy creative riding not only in the park but across the entire mountain

Another notable feature in the board category is the expansion of models equipped with "Orbital Cushioning™ technology." This technology incorporates a urethane shock-absorbing material around the insert to reduce vibrations coming from the connection point between the binding and the board. Last season, it was only used in the flagship "Megalight" model. For the 26-27 season, it has been expanded to include Sensor Mons, Sensor Pro, Odyssey, Mosquito, and Smoke & Gun, allowing more riders to benefit from it

The " INDEX APX" features a full-length storm cover.

INDEX APX Dual BOA®

Dual BOA®
Pro-Stiff
Responsive
Size: 25.0-31.0cm (in 0.5cm increments up to 30.0cm)
¥90,000

The "INDEX APX" is the flagship model in the boot line, positioned as the highest grade. Designed for backcountry expeditions, the "INDEX APX" is labeled PRO-STIFF, but the front-to-back flex is moderately set for easy walking, while the side-to-side flex provides high responsiveness

A notable feature is the first-ever use of a full-length storm cover (full gaiter concept) inspired by mountaineering. This construction, which wraps the outside of the boot and liner in mesh and PU material, significantly enhances waterproofing and resistance to external damage. The design, which does not compromise performance even in harsh conditions, is reassuring for riders who turn the mountains into their playground

The closure system utilizes the latest "BOA® H5 platform." It not only allows for tightening by simply turning the dial, but also supports bidirectional operation, enabling gradual loosening by turning the dial in the opposite direction. This allows for quick adjustments throughout the day, even while wearing gloves, to adapt to changing conditions

The outsole features the new generation Vibram® "Approach 2.0." The combination of NIDECKER's proprietary "Traction Lugs®" technology and Icetrek compound significantly improves grip on ice and snow compared to the previous model. Furthermore, the "Transition Zone" design at the rear of the sole makes entry and exit to Supermatic® bindings even smoother. This model most strongly embodies NIDECKER's design philosophy of considering boots and bindings as a "system."

Furthermore, the adoption of the BOA® H5 platform has been extended to the entire boot line this season, and all models from the entry-level Altai to the INDEX APX can benefit from it
