In Pakistan's Karakoram region, Takafumi Konishi hiked 150km across glaciers exceeding 5,000m in altitude, climbing and skiing whenever he found a suitable spot. With no resupply along the way, if his clothing tore or malfunctioned, he would be finished. The unfudge flagship model, the "BIAFO JACKET," supported him through this grueling journey

From the very beginning of development, the most important need for this model was "to be able to wear it for longer periods of time." Walking long distances in minus 20 degrees Celsius. Snow is falling and the wind is strong. We continued to seek clothing that would allow us to move as comfortably as possible in such conditions, and that led to the current "BIAFO JACKET."

For the 26-27 season, all BIAFO series jackets have been changed to eVent fabric. This material is renowned for its high waterproofness and extremely excellent breathability, just like before. With improved water repellency and a lighter weight, it has been proven in mountain testing in the Northern and Southern Japanese Alps to allow for extremely easy movement and comfortable activity

Furthermore, the ventilation pockets have been redesigned for improved functionality. This completely eliminates interference with the backpack, supporting a more comfortable mountain trek

The hood features a drawstring at the back that can be tightened both front and back, and three-dimensional cutting is used in various parts to ensure ease of movement. Functional details are also impeccable, such as pockets placed in positions that do not interfere with backpacks or harnesses, ventilation that is effective for regulating body temperature, and cuffs designed to prevent snow from entering

BRAND features

Representative Yoshitaka Ota has been involved in the design and development of snow wear since 1997, while also working as a professional snowboarder. Within the apparel manufacturers that sponsored him, he incorporated elements that suited the fields he skied and snowboarded in, while also looking cool, into his designs. He adopted the name Unfudge around 2009 and developed it as a spin-off model of one brand, but in 2016 he became independent in Toda Takayama and started unfudge.

In addition to snow wear, he advocated layering after becoming independent and added base layers and fleece products to his lineup. He has been active not only on ski resorts but also in the backcountry, conveying the importance of layering. Currently, skiers, snowboarders, mountain guides, trail runners, and anglers are also members, and they are developing products that are active in various fields.

Unfudge snow wear focuses on refining its products over time rather than creating something new every year. While new models with new concepts are added every few years, these are also released after several years of testing. The most important thing is whether the product is enjoyable in the field.
