Relive your youth!? Enjoy the slopes in trendy attire with the "90s Retro Ski Trip Plan"! | Bandaisan Onsen Hotel by Hoshino Resorts

Bandaisan Onsen Hotel by Hoshino Resorts, located right in front of one of Japan's largest ski resorts, will be selling a plan called "90's Retro Ski Trip" from December 13, 2025 to April 5, 2026, which allows guests to enjoy ski fashion from the 1990s

This plan, which debuted last year and proved very popular, allows guests to rent colorful and pop-style ski and snowboard wear from the 90s and fully enjoy the sport. After the day, guests can enjoy a party time with "Snack Paradise" filled with nostalgic sweets and drinks, and can even capture retro-style photos with the vintage compact digital camera (*) provided during their stay.
*A compact digital camera that appeared around the 2000s to 2010s.

The 1990s was a time of nationwide skiing boom, when young people clad in brightly colored clothing crowded the slopes. We want you to experience a memorable snow trip, where you can have fun with friends while recreating the atmosphere and fashion of that time. Below we will introduce in detail the features of this plan, which was born from that idea

Feature 1: Enjoy the slopes in retro and pop wear

This plan allows you to rent colorful, pop clothing reminiscent of the slopes of the 1990s. The appeal is that you can enjoy bold fashion that is different from your everyday style, something that can only be enjoyed at a ski resort. You can also rent accessories such as retro sunglasses that recreate the atmosphere of that time, creating an unforgettable day that will make you feel like you've traveled back in time

Feature 2: Party with friends at "Snack Paradise"

One of the great pleasures of a snow trip is enjoying a meal and drinks with friends after a day of skiing. It's great to have a lively time at a restaurant or go out into town, but it's also nice to spend some time relaxing in a warm room with close friends

The guest rooms also feature a "Snack Paradise" specially prepared for this plan. The box tower, designed to resemble a slope, is filled with nostalgic, retro sweets and conversation-starting topic cards. Reminiscing about the day's skiing and sharing memories is sure to be even more exciting

Feature 3: Take retro photos of your memories with a digital camera

From the 1990s to the 2000s, compact digital cameras were essential for capturing travel memories. In recent years, these "old compact digital cameras" have become popular again among young people for their ability to take emotionally charged photos. One camera will be loaned free of charge to each group during their stay

You can capture memories of your trip with photos that have a nostalgic, retro feel that modern smartphones don't have. You can connect the photos to your smartphone on the spot and take them all home with you, and you can even print stickers of your favorite photos. Another great thing about this app is that you can keep a tangible memento of your trip
