All tournaments will be unified under the FWT brand
The Freeride World Tour (FWT), the world's top international competition which began in 1996, has announced changes to the schedule, name and logo for FWT23, which will be held in 2023

FWT is a tour that determines the world's best freeride competitors, who compete on technique and style over untouched terrain. Starting this season, the format of the competition divisions has been revamped, and all competitions held around the world have been unified under the FWT brand. As a result, the Freeride Junior Tour (FJT), a junior competition for those under 18, has been renamed FWT JUNIOR, and the Freeride World Qualifier (FWQ), a qualifying tournament for competitors 18 and over, has been renamed FWT Qualifier. In addition, an "FWT Challenger" has been added between the top FWT competition and the Qualifier

Athletes who compete in the FWT Qualifier and achieve excellent results can challenge the FWT Challenger. In this category, the top athletes who have won their country's Qualifiers and athletes who did not meet the standard for seeded athletes for the following year in the previous season's FWT compete for a spot in the following year's FWT. A total of six tournaments will be held, three in Europe and three in North America, to determine athletes who will be able to compete alongside the world's top athletes in 2024
The two best results from each of the three FWT Challengers will be added to the final ranking, and the top four men's skiers, top two women's skiers, top two men's snowboarders, and top woman's snowboarder from each region, for a total of 18 athletes, will qualify for the FWT24
4* qualifying tournament will also be held in Hakuba

The FWT Qualifierhas four competition levels, from 1* to 4*, and athletes compete in each level, earning points based on their competition level and ranking. In Japan, a 4* level competition is scheduled to be held in Hakuba.
