
The 56th Teiitsu Festival/Hakuba Mountain Range Opening Festival (Safety Prayer Festival), a historic mountain event marking the opening of the Hakuba Mountain Range in the Northern Alps, will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022
In addition to this festival, trekking tours with local guides and traverse tours of the Hakuba Three Peaks will also be held simultaneously, but the"Hakuba-dake Mountain Tour (for advanced hikers)"is particularly noteworthy.
"Ski Tour of Mt. Hakuba (for advanced skiers)"
The tour is a two-day, one-night mountain ski tour for advanced skiers, where you can ski around Mt. Shirouma, the symbol of Hakuba, with a local professional guide. You can enjoy a spectacular run around Mt. Shirouma and Mt. Asahi and the large snowfields. A local guide who knows the Hakuba mountains inside and out will take you to the best backcountry fields over the two days. *Limited to skiers
Date and Time: Saturday, May 28th - Sunday, May 29th, 2022 1-night, 2-day tour / Registration: 6:00 AM onwards
<Day 1> 6:30 AM Departure from Sarukura - Daisekkei (Great Snow Valley) - Negidaira - 1.2-hour short tour around Hakuba Sanso (mountain hut) Overnight stay at Hakuba Sanso (1 night, 2 meals)
<Day 2> 8:00 AM Departure from Hakuba Sanso - Tour around Mt. Hakuba, then descent (skiing) down Daisekkei - Arrive back at Sarukura around 3:00 PM, tour ends
Participation fee: 36,000 yen (includes accommodation, two meals, guide fee, commemorative pin badge, and consumption tax)
Number of participants: Maximum 10 people (minimum 5 people)

This course is for advanced skiers, so only those who meet the following conditions can participate
① Participants must have taken at least multiple backcountry tours. ②
Participants must be advanced skiers capable of skiing on steep slopes of around 35 degrees and crusted slopes.
③ Participants must have mountain insurance that covers backcountry skiing (use of crampons and ice axes).
④ Participants must bring their own beacon, crampons (10 or more points), ice axe, and harness.
*Those over 70 years old or high school students or younger cannot participate
Application deadline: Friday, May 20, 2022.*Applications will close once the maximum number of participants is reached.
*There is no dedicated bus for this tour, so you will need to travel to Sarukura Parking Lot by car
