Enjoy heli-skiing from the peak season this season! | 2025-26 Hakuba Norikura Onsen Ski Resort Latest Information

Hakuba Norikura Onsen Ski Resort boasts some of the best powder snow in the Hakuba area. Located at an altitude of over 1,300m at the foot of Mount Hakuba Norikura, the northernmost point of the Northern Alps, it is particularly inland and high up in the HAKUBA VALLEY, so it receives an abundance of the finest dry powder. The 100% natural snow skiing environment never ceases to fascinate powder lovers

Hakuba Heli-skiing is a popular activity that was also offered at Hakuba Norikura last season. In the 2024-25 season, it was scheduled to start in late March, but this season it has been decided that it will operate from mid-January to early March. This will be a rare opportunity to experience the snow quality of the peak season

Heli-skiing at Hakuba Norikura involves flying from the ski resort's heliport to Nishiyama Heliport (near Tenguhara), at an altitude of 2,110m, by helicopter. From an area that cannot be accessed by regular lifts, you ski down approximately 2km of ungroomed slopes in one go. The ski route is determined by the guide based on the snow quality and weather on the day, so even first-time heli-skiers can try it with confidence. Heli-skiing is offered in two sessions, morning and afternoon. The morning session costs 73,500 yen plus tax, and the afternoon session costs 42,000 yen plus tax (including two runs for each session). Avalanche gear is available for free rental, or you can bring your own

This season, Hakuba Norikura is also undergoing renovations to improve the comfort of its facilities. The restaurant "Snowdrop" has increased its seating capacity, and a new women's powder room has been installed in the main restroom. The parking lot for day visitors has been expanded to accommodate approximately 800 cars. In addition, food trucks have been introduced to increase food and drink options while on the slopes, and more automatic lift ticket vending machines have been installed, with other efforts being made throughout the resort to reduce congestion on weekends and during peak seasons

For those looking to stay overnight, we also recommend the adjacent Hakuba Alps Hotel. The hotel will undergo a major renovation of its guest rooms in December 2024, and will also offer rooms for families and groups accommodating up to five people. The hotel is also equipped with a heated pool and jacuzzi, which can be used in the winter, allowing you to spend a relaxing time while enjoying the snowy scenery
