On Wednesday, April 29, 2026 (a national holiday), the big snowboard and ski contest "HiPOS 2026" will be held at Nakayama Pass Ski Resort in Hokkaido. The event, which will conclude the season in the spring park, is currently nearing its entry deadline
This competition features three levels in each category of snowboarding and skiing: "360°," "Amateur," and "Open," with separate classes for men and women within each level. "360°" is a beginner class where competitors must complete a 360° rotation horizontally, "Amateur" takes place on a medium kicker, and "Open" is open to both professionals and amateurs and is held on a big kicker. From beginners to aspiring pros, this is a chance to conquer the specially constructed spring park at a level that suits you
The judging panel will feature a lineup of renowned figures. In the snowboard class, the judges will include Daisuke Murakami, who competed in two Olympic Games and currently serves as a coach for the Japanese national team, and Shinichi Watanabe, who competed in the Nagano Olympics and has been a judge since the first FWT and HiPO competitions. In the ski class, the judges will include Yoshiaki Arima, a freestyle skier who is at the forefront of Hokkaido's ski scene, coaching at his own club and judging at SAJ competitions. In addition, the panel will include Yoshiya "BULL" Urata, a top professional skier who is passionate about nurturing young talent at his own club "T-crew," has competed in numerous domestic and international contests, and enjoys strong support from professional skiers overseas
Additionally, DJ DAIGO, a familiar face in the Hokkaido ski scene, will serve as the MC, and professional snowboarder Ryo Kimura will provide commentary, adding to the excitement of the event
