Spring has officially begun nationwide, and the spring skiing season, "The Spring," has also begun at Kawaba Ski Resort in Gunma Prefecture. Starting April 1st, snow skating has been permitted in some areas at Kawaba Ski Resort
Snow skating is not permitted during the peak season, but it will be available for a limited time from the start of the spring season on April 1st until the end of the season. The longest run is 3,300m (as of April 4th), so you can enjoy snow skating on plenty of long courses

LIB TECH, which also sells skis, will also be launching a service where you can rent snow skates for 1,000 yen for three hours. This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to try snow skating. Why not give it a try?

■What is a snowskate?
A snowskate is a skateboard with a single ski attached to the bottom of the deck (board), and it's ridden without bindings to fix your feet like a snowboard, essentially a "skateboard that slides on snow." There are several types, but all types offer a high degree of freedom in riding because your feet are not fixed to the board, and it can be enjoyed even at the beginning of the season in December when there is little snow, or in the spring season, and the number of ski resorts where snowskating is permitted has been increasing nationwide in recent years.
