"KEEN GARAGE HARAJUKU" grand opening on Friday, April 28, 2023

Novelty gifts and charity sales are also held to commemorate the opening

KEEN is an outdoor footwear brand that celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Since June 2012, the store has been located on Cat Street in Harajuku, Tokyo. The store name has also been renewed to “KEEN GARAGE HARAJUKU”.

A lot of reused materials are used for the exterior and interior of the store with the image of a garage and factory. The wooden door used in the old store and the conveyor that was used for the shoe production line due to improvements in Thailand are reused as shop display fixtures, and sample shoes are incorporated into the ceiling display, creating a sense of playfulness.

At the time of the relocation opening, we will set up a "Shoe Donation Box" that will keep KEEN shoes that can still be worn and donate them to NPOs, sell the commemorative model "NEWPORT" made in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of the brand, and purchase over 11,000 yen. An original 2way tote bag will also be given as a gift.

"NEWPORT" is sold for the purpose of charity, and all the sales price without tax is donated. Purchasers themselves can choose to donate from five organizations active in Japan and overseas. In addition, workshops and events that will be central to the community, such as climate change and diversity, will also be held.

In addition, "KEEN Galley" will be held at the gallery space in the store for 3 days from the grand opening on Friday, April 28th. Here, a flower arrangement installation that fuses the commemorative model “NEWPORT” with flowers, a message board that visitors can participate in, and a workshop where you can customize novelty tote bags with original stamps will be held.
