Jiro Miyamoto has been competing in mogul skiing for many years, dreaming of competing in the Olympics. When he reached an age where his dream would no longer come true, he decided to do something only he could do: "popularize mogul skiing in Middle Eastern countries and produce medalists." This shows how far he goes from the typical way of thinking
He had already traveled to Iran alone in 2018 to inspect the country. The following winter in 2019, he recruited some friends and visited Iran with former Olympic skier Kai Ozaki and former junior national team member Kanata Oto. They held the country's first mogul camp. Since then, he has continued to invite Iranian skiers to Japan and hold training camps in water jumps and other areas, driving the project forward towards a new dream
This crowdfunding campaign is for a mogul skiing camp in Iran scheduled for February, as well as a mogul skiing promotion and camp in neighboring Azerbaijan.
The members include Miyamoto, Kanata Ono, and Takahiro Matsuyama, as well as Junko Hoshino, who just retired after the Beijing Olympics, making for a star-studded lineup.
Wouldn't you like to help make this dream project a success? STEEP plans to continue featuring their activities regularly. We're also
curious about the ski resorts in the Middle East.
