The STEEP editorial team visited the 12th Shinshu Forest Festival! 2024 on its opening day, June 29th (Saturday), which was recently featured in the news.

What is Shinshu Mori Festival?
Shinshu Forest Festival! 2024 will be held over two days, from June 29th to 30th.
The Shinshu Forest Festival! is an event that started in 2011 with the aim of providing an opportunity for people to think about the relationship between forests and people, and about living in connection with forests, while having fun in the forest. This year marks the 12th time the event has been held.
The venue is Sugadaira Kogen Petit Hotel Zontack Annex Forest Hall. Admission is free on both days
Introducing booths that caught the editors' attention at "Shinshu Mori Festival!"
〇GREEN.LAB
GREEN.LAB is a brand that uses larch grown in Shinshu and cypress from Minami-Kiso for its wood cores. At their booth, they will be exhibiting snowboards and wood cores, as well as selling GREEN.LAB apparel made from organic cotton and other materials.
the Burton Flagship Store Nagano,
the Burton booth was selling used snowboards. They were also holding a workshop where customers could create pouches and tote bags by upcycling banners that were no longer needed in the store.
CLIFF
STEEP, sells organic cotton T-shirts, eco-bags, hats, and outdoor gear printed with original illustrations of mountains, skiing, and more. They also hold workshops where you can learn to weave bracelets with paracord.

The VOLCOM booth offers items, sample products, and used goods at special prices that can only be purchased here.
Meiku Snowboard
" booth, a workshop was held where participants could make their own snowboards.
LADE.SNOW
booth, they are holding a "LADE Beanie Measurement Session." While you can order beanies online, this is a great opportunity to order a beanie that fits your head shape while actually handling the materials.
◯Biyajima Bee Farm
is selling fully ripened raw honey from northern Shinshu and honey lemon juice, both produced by snowboarder Go Miyajima.
There are plenty of fun things to do at the venue!
The venue is packed with a variety of content, including the booths mentioned above. There are booths where you can try tree climbing using ropes, as well as live performances and live painting, so both adults and children can have fun all day long
