Stylist Natsuko Kaneko's pop-up event, "SKI POPUP Natsuko's Room," is entering its third season this year
In addition to the annual exhibition and fitting session of the autumn/winter collections featuring ski wear and gear brands, there will also be sales of familiar items such as dried food from The Small Twist Trailfoods and ski socks from BOGEN , and a "winter bookstore" by Minami Suzuki, owner of Peas and book director. This year's lineup is also impressive, with a photo exhibition by photographer Yoko Takahashi , craft beer brewery NATURES Brewing from Higashikawa, Hokkaido, SNOW & COFFEE TABLE which mainly operates pop-ups and catering , and VOSTOK labo from Nemuro, Hokkaido, bringing original sweets from "Natsuko's Room" .
This year, on the first day, Saturday the 7th, starting at 6:00 PM, we will also be holding a "Ski Chat" where people can casually talk about skiing, mountains, and other outdoor activities
What exactly is "Natsuko's Room"? I asked Kaneko-san
"Natsuko's Room" is a "city hut" where ski enthusiasts gather. It's a place where people meet and chat before the season starts, but it's also an open space where anyone can easily drop by, whether you're someone who wants to start skiing or someone who's interested in skiing as a fashion trend
The inspiration for this project came from my realization, after more than a decade of being known as an outdoor enthusiast, particularly for mountain climbing, that skiing is something I've been passionate about. Every time I was asked for advice on set or elsewhere, I was struck by how high the hurdles to getting started were. I wanted to create a casual space where people could talk about skiing and perhaps even give them a little push to take that first step. That's how "Natsuko's Room" began."
