Hoshino Resorts Nekoma Mountain is one of Japan's leading resorts, with 33 courses stretching north and south from Mount Nekoma. The resort is divided into two areas: the South Area, where you can enjoy open skiing and views of the majestic Mount Bandai and Lake Inawashiro, and the North Area, where you can enjoy a long season of skiing right up until spring on north-facing slopes at a high altitude with light snow
The two areas were connected by the Nyaruts Chair, which opened in December last year, creating the new Nekoma Mountain, with a much wider ski run. While the number of visitors has increased, the north area's lack of lift capacity has been an issue. This season, a new four-person high-speed quad lift, the Friendly Cat Express, has been installed at the base of the north area
The addition of a new lift, approximately 800 meters long, from the North Area Base to near Deep Cat Chair, will significantly increase transport capacity from the slope entrance, shorten lift wait times, and make access to the South Area smoother. For skiers, the improved access to Deep Cat Chair, known for its powder snow, is a major draw. This Friendly Cat Express is scheduled to begin operation in late December.
The ski resort is scheduled to open for this season on Saturday, November 30th.
A beginner's course has also been created, measuring approximately 1km in length and a maximum width of 150m!
This season, a new lift will be installed, creating a long and wide beginner's course measuring approximately 1km in length and 150m in maximum width. This will allow direct access from the base to an area previously only accessible via intermediate and advanced courses, expanding the range of courses where beginners can ski safely.
Furthermore, a special discounted one-day pass for beginners using the new lift will be available. This is undoubtedly great news for beginner skiers and snowboarders, as well as families.
A "Kids Park" has also opened on the friendly slopes!
This season, a kids' park where you can enjoy sledding, striders, and tubing will open at the bottom of the beginner's course, the "Friendly Slope." This field where small children can safely enjoy a variety of snow activities is the perfect place for their snow debut. Sleds and striders can be rented, so you can come empty-handed and enjoy the family drive atmosphere
There is also a family-only rest area in the resort center in the north area, so you can spend fun time with your family indoors or outdoors, regardless of the weather
