Based in Sapporo, Yuhei Yamada (aka Kun-san) continues his filming career while traveling to various places, including Nagano Prefecture and Colorado, USA.
Two years after his previous film, "Serious Shit," his long-awaited full-length street film is finally being released. It's called "Komainu."
First of all, the teaser has been released, so please take a look here
Anyone who is fascinated by action sports, not just freestyle skiing or snowboarding, but also skateboarding, BMX and other sports, has surely had the experience of daydreaming in the city, "If only I could fly there..." or "If only I could scrape against that handrail at the station or school..."
Such a boy has now grown into an adult. That person is Yamada Yuhei, and "Komainu" is a film that brings his image to life.
He is a freestyle ski enthusiast and an experienced park digger. Utilizing the equipment construction techniques he has honed at famous snow parks in Japan, he transforms urban areas into snow parks. For Yamada, who has skied at authentic American parks, it was inevitable that he would move to the streets to further test his passion and skills
The film, which was shot over a two-year period, is packed with shots of such high quality that it's hard to believe they're individual parts. The footage makes you realize how freely two skis can be used, and how they can become a tool that can be enjoyed anywhere. In addition to the full four-minute part, a rough cut without background music is also scheduled to be released, in order to make the most of the real sounds from the location
*The main film is scheduled to be released in early November on the ICELANTIC JAPAN WEBSITE / YouTube / Instagram TV
