Powder Land Muikamachi Hakkaisan's powder is back! We can still expect some deep powder days!
The store was temporarily closed for a while to put in place measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, but will reopen for business on Saturday, February 27th. The following is from Facebook
Muikamachi Hakkaisan is a ski resort famous for its deep powder and a favorite among powder lovers. It was closed during the peak season, even though there was a lot of snow this winter, which must have disappointed many skiers and snowboarders. For those who have been eagerly awaiting the reopening, there is still powder to enjoy in the second half of the season. Come and enjoy the abundant snow that accumulated during the closure!

the long courses along the ropewayare ungroomed and 40%
A short 5-minute ride on the 81-passenger ropeway takes you to the 1,100m-high summit. The long, narrow course layout from the top features numerous long courses, including the iconic 3km downhill course that symbolizes Hakkaisan. With much of it ungroomed, Hakkaisan is a rare find where you can efficiently enjoy long powder runs using just one ropeway ride.
Among them, the ungroomed "Expert Course" just below the summit station offers a truly STEEP & DEEP powder ride. With a maximum slope of 38 degrees and an average of 27 degrees, it's a highly satisfying spot where you can fly 700m while kicking up spray. In addition, the slightly steep "Challenge Course" shaped like a bowl is also ungroomed. Furthermore, either "Separate Zone A" or "Separate Zone B" is also ungroomed, meaning that approximately 40% of the entire resort is ungroomed. Hakkaisan is a heavy snowfall area boasting snow depths easily exceeding 300cm during the high season, and is a ski resort favored by connoisseurs with a high success rate of finding deep powder.
