September 18th is Climate Action Day!
"POW - Protect Our Winters Japan" is a snow community initiative that is working towards the vision of "realizing a carbon-free society." We have previously covered their philosophy and activities in various articles on [STEEP]. Perhaps this summer's unprecedented heat has been an opportunity for everyone to realize the magnitude and seriousness of the climate problem
On Monday, September 18th (a national holiday), a large-scale event and parade against climate change will be held in Yoyogi Park in Tokyo, titled "My Future - NO NUKES & NO FOSSIL Aiming for 100% Renewable Energy and a Fair Society," and climate action will also be carried out across the country
POW JAPAN will be exhibiting a booth and participating in the parade together with our partners and ambassadors. We received an invitation from POW JAPAN saying, "Would you like to join us as STEEP readers?", so we would like to share this here

Aiming for 100% Renewable Energy and a Just Society
On September 18, 2023, climate action will be held throughout Japan, starting with the event and parade "My Future - NO NUKES & NO FOSSIL: Aiming for 100% Renewable Energy and a Just Society" at Yoyogi Park in Tokyo. The event is organized by three groups: the civic group "My Future," the youth movement "Fridays For Future Tokyo," and the "Goodbye Nuclear Power 10 Million People Action." This event and parade aims for urgent action against the worsening climate crisis, the realization of a "100% renewable energy and just society" that does not rely on fossil fuels or nuclear power, and a future where everyone can live in peace.

For outdoor enthusiasts, this is "THE DAY," but even a day of simply living a peaceful and fulfilling life can be "THE DAY." POW JAPAN supports and participates in this event for the sake of those irreplaceable "THE DAYs" of the future.
POW JAPAN will be heading to Yoyogi Park in Tokyo together with our secretariat members, ambassadors, and partner companies. We will be waiting for you at a fun and comfortable booth where you can gather before the parade to collect placards, paint faces, and distribute original patches!
It is precisely because we love nature that we have a voice to convey our message. In fact, we have a responsibility to raise our voices and bring about change in society that will prevent climate change from becoming any more serious, for the sake of the children and young people who will live in the future
I want to walk in the parade with as many friends as possible.
Our goal is 1,000 participants from the outdoor community!
Our motto is "MARCH FOR THE DAY". Just walking together and having fun is enough. The positive energy of the outdoor community will surely have a big impact on the event as a whole.
