Crowdfunding campaign underway for the "Ontake Ski Resort Reconstruction Project" | Aiming to revive the snow park by repairing the self-propelled snow machine

Located in the Kiso area of Nagano Prefecture, Ontake Ski Resort was once one of Japan's largest ski resorts, boasting a wide range of slopes, lifts, and courses, and even a gondola. However, the ski boom slowed down, and the 2014 eruption of Mount Ontake forced the resort to temporarily suspend operations

Aiming to rebuild, the resort attempted crowdfunding for the first time last year to renovate its aging facilities. As a result, it received support far exceeding its target amount, and was successful in installing drainage gutters, replacing lift seats, renovating rest areas, expanding the slopes, and renovating the baths and guest rooms at Lodge Mikasa, an accommodation and hot spring facility

This year, as the second phase of the "#Ontake Ski Resort Reconstruction Project," a crowdfunding campaign has been launched on READYFOR since August 5th. This time, the project aims to revive the resort by renovating the self-propelled snow machines to create stable slope conditions and rebuilding the once-famous Ontake Snow Park

Snow machines that have been broken down due to aging. Aiming to revive them by repairing them rather than replacing them

Crowdfunding can be supported from as little as 5,000 yen per donation, with various rewards available depending on the amount. Some of the rewards include an original logo hoodie, a Mikasa no Yu season pass, and even a unique "Slope Cruise to Experience Groomed Snow" with staff in the evening after the resort has closed. The READYFOR page has details about the project and the ski resort's vision for it. Be sure to check it out
