"RIDE THE EARTH" - A journey around the globe, Part 10: South America. Announcement of new initiatives and crowdfunding

The location of the 10th installment of the photobook series "Skiing the Earth" by professional skier Takeshi Kodama and photographer Kei Sato has been announced

The setting for this trip is South America

The vast mountainous area that runs vertically across the continent is home to magnificent glaciers, strange vegetation, and breathtaking scenery. Kodama Tsuyoshi looks back on his wanderings in South America in 2002, visiting various ski resorts and mountainous regions in pursuit of the wonders of the Earth. It looks set to be a spectacular "journey skiing around the globe" befitting the 10th anniversary of the event

Kei Sato,

Born in Sapporo in 1972. In 2009, he moved to Kamifurano, Hokkaido, and has been publishing his work in manufacturer catalogs, magazines, etc., mainly photographing skiing and snowboarding. He travels around the world with his camera bag on his back, engaging in sessions with many riders both in Japan and overseas. In recent years, he has expanded his field of photography even further, and his work on action sports, the outdoors, tourism, and weddings has also been highly praised

To commemorate the 10th anniversary, ebisfilms will be in charge of producing the video

To commemorate the 10th installment of the series, a new initiative has been announced: the production of a film. Ebis Films' Masaki Sekiguchi, known for the icon series, will be in charge of filming and editing, and the 10-part "Sliding Around the Earth" series that began in 2012 will be compiled into a documentary-style film

Sekiguchi will accompany the pair on their trip to South America, and plans to combine footage he has shot on previous trips to create a work that depicts skiing, travel, and life on an unprecedented, grand scale

The documentary is expected to be completed on October 15, 2025, after which a premium preview screening is also planned
