[2026 Summer Ski Competition Information] Intense competition in inline skating and piste lab! A packed schedule of autumn competition events in Hakuba and Nozawa Onsen

Summer skiing, which is gaining popularity year after year as a place for off-season training and skill improvement, will see a series of exciting competitions taking place in the fall of 2026 in Hakuba and Nozawa Onsen in Nagano Prefecture, utilizing inline skiing and summer slopes (piste labs)

This guide also introduces the details of notable events, including the "All Japan Student Summer Ski Championships," which determines the top student skier, as well as the "Hakuba Inline Ski Technical Championships" and "Nozawa Piste Lab Ski Technical Championships," which offer opportunities for a wide range of competitors from juniors to masters

[Held on September 6th] The 2nd Hakuba Inline Skiing Technical Competition

The inline skiing technical competition will be held on a specially prepared course along the Hakuba Matsukawa River. A wide range of categories are set up, from rookies and elementary school students to elites and masters, and a training session led by a lineup of top instructors will be held the day before

  • Date: September 6, 2026 (Sunday) *September 5 (Saturday) Reserve day/Official practice session
  • Venue: Hakuba Matsukawa Riverbed (Special course downstream of Hakuba Ohashi Bridge)
  • Organizer: Japan Inline Skiing Federation
  • Categories: Rookie/College Freshman, Elementary School Elite, Women's Elite, Men's Elite, Masters, College Women/Men
  • Events: Giant slalom, small slalom, small slalom with rhythm variation, and overall downhill (※Varies by class)

[September 17-18] The 15th All Japan Student Summer Ski Championships in Hakuba & Nozawa

This traditional competition combines inline skiing and Pislab (summer ski slopes) to determine the champion of student summer skiing. The overall ranking is determined by the inline skiing competition at Hakuba Matsukawa and the Pislab competition at Nozawa Onsen

This new competition will be held exclusively on the Pislab slope at Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort. A wide range of skiers, from elementary and junior high school students to adults and masters, will compete on the summer slope

  • Venue: Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort, Pislab Slope
  • Organizer: Pislab SKI Tournament Executive Committee
  • Categories: Elementary and Junior High School Students, High School Students, University Rookie Tournament, University Women's/Adult Women's Tournament, University Men's Tournament, Adult Men's Tournament, Adult Masters Tournament (55 years and older)
  • Events: Giant Slalom, Downhill (Note: General Masters category has 4 events)
