This spring, the Snow Mountain Festival will be held for the first time at Tanigawadake Yoch by Hoshino Resorts (formerly Tanigawadake Ropeway) in Minakami Town, Gunma Prefecture. It's the first of its kind in Japan! It offers a variety of activities that will immerse you in the snowy mountains, including a hands-on event where you can try out snow mountain climbing gear from multiple manufacturers, as well as a workshop where you can learn about avalanche prevention measures while experiencing them
<Snow Mountain Gear Experience Event>
You can actually try out snow mountain climbing gear from brands like Haglofs and La Sportiva, as well as outdoor foods from brands like Manabar and Amino Vital, on the snow, and get advice on how to choose the right items from manufacturer representatives.
<Get hooked on snowy mountains! Workshop>
Enjoy the views of Mt. Tanigawa while luxuriously walking on 100% natural snow with snowshoes. This workshop also includes a treasure hunt where you can learn how to use beacons/probes from members of the Minakami Mountain Guide Association, a group of guides who are well-versed in Mt. Tanigawa.

Food and drink booths where you can enjoy Minakami town's gourmet food, including the famous mountain delicacy "Tanigawadake Bread Gratin".
