Born in Tsunan Town, Niigata Prefecture, she started snowboarding at the age of 3. From a young age, she focused on freestyle and obtained her professional halfpipe qualification at the age of 13. She attracted attention in halfpipe and slopestyle contests. In recent years, she has shifted her focus to freeride and has achieved four consecutive victories at the JAPAN FREERIDE OPEN.

Nozawa Onsen Village has a history of skiing spanning over 100 years. Kenji Kono was born and raised in a place where skiing culture is deeply rooted, and he has been active as a World Cup ski cross athlete since his teens. In 2014, he retired from the front lines and for the second stage of his life, he opened "Nozawa Green Field," a treehouse he built with his friends using locally sourced thinned timber. He plans green season activities such as tree camping and harvesting experiences in the fields. As a skier, he challenges unknown slopes both domestically and internationally, takes on shooting challenges, and is also involved in the development of VECTOR GLIDE skis.
A "POW JAPAN × THE NORTH FACE TALK SESSION" featuring riders who are both THE NORTH FACE athletes and POW ambassadors will also be held
Furthermore, the "POW JAPAN × THE NORTH FACE TALK SESSION" is scheduled to be held on Monday, July 22nd.
