The "Frie 2025 Telemark Ski Event & Free Heel Ski Equipment Exhibition & Test Ride," an event where you can easily experience the charm of telemark skiing on the slopes, will be held on March 8th (Sat) and 9th (Sun) at Hakuba Norikura Onsen Ski Resort.
"Frie" is a Norwegian adjective meaning "free." It is not a word used on its own, but is originally used with words that follow it, such as Frie Scheele (free spirit). This is a ski festival held annually by the Japan Telemark Ski Association, where you can enjoy telemark skiing, which combines the skiing and skiing techniques of Norway, the birthplace of skiing, with the latest equipment and free thinking.
Exhibiting brands include BlackDiamond, SCARPA, FRITSCHI, PIEPS, OSPREY, ROTTEFELLA, MADSHUS, CRISPI, Julbo, BLASTRACK, Bluemoris, Manzoku (original skis), YamaECO and many more
In addition to test rides of next season's models, this two-day event is packed with activities to immerse yourself in the world of telemark skiing, including workshops, experience sessions, contests, and races. The theme of the event is "Let's Gathering - Let's Come Together, Telemark Skiers!", so come to Hakuba Norikura this weekend to experience the true joy of skiing and the allure of telemark skiing!
